Is it possible for orthodox, creedal Christianity to change its views on matters of sexuality and gender? In order to do so, must it simply incorporate elements of the secular world that are foreign to it? In That We Might Become God, Andy Buechel argues that many of the basic insights of queer theory are not only deeply amenable to the wider Christian tradition, but that they allow us to see that tradition with fresh eyes. The churches that are most concerned with maintaining theological tradition can, in fact, develop on these matters and, in so doing, deepen some of the most fundamental insights they cherish. Looking specifically at Christian teaching surrounding the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, the sacraments, and eschatology, Andy Buechel shows how deeply queer these areas are already. The insistence of too many churches to clinging to modern notions of sexuality and gender impede the proclamation of the good news, and this is needless. By attending to the ancient tradition in contemporary ways, this text demonstrates the coherence of that heritage today, as well as its capacity to develop to encompass all those whom God has created.

From the age of seven to about twelve I suffered from epileptic seizures. I took medicine for years and years, then one day, I just noticed it had gone away, seemingly on its own. I highly doubt the medicine I was on had any effect upon my condition. Upon reading through some passages, I discovered around that age the brain naturally goes through a reorganization process in which it reinforces the parts we regularly use and removes the ones we don’t to improve efficiency. I have no idea what garbage they were feeding me, but now in my later years, I have learned that cannabis could have spared me from the needless suffering.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】A Vindication of the Rights of Woman【電子書籍】[ Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley ]

*** Original and Unabridged Content. Made available by GOLDEN CLASSIC PRESS***

Synopsis:

Regarded as the one of the earliest examples of feminist philosophy, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman is written as a direct response to Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-P?rigord, a French politician who delivered a report to the French National Assembly suggesting that women should only receive domestic education and additionally encourages women to stay clear of political affairs. In her treatise, Wollstonecraft avidly criticizes this inadequate perception of women as an inferior sex and attacks social inequality, while also arguing for women’s rights in the hope of redefining their position both in society and in marriage. Exploring themes of oppression, feminism, social reforms, education, sensibility, reason, and marriage, Wollstonecraft successfully sets the foundation for liberal feminism which had later inspired many to express their support.

Published in 1792, the piece begins with Wollstonecraft’s argument that the power of reason is what places humans above all other forms of natural life, and this position is further reinforced by virtue and morality, and finally secured with the accumulation of knowledge. So, she believes that the key to happiness lies in the degree of reason, virtue, and knowledge exercised within society. Furthermore, this allows Wollstonecraft to express the notion that women are not naturally inferior to men, but instead this invalid perception is a direct outcome triggered by society’s failure to employ reason and properly educate women. Subsequently, she illustrates the ways in which women’s position in society is obstructed from early on in life, as they are encouraged to care for superficial attributes, surrender themselves to sensibility, and tend to their husband’s every need. Consequently, they are prevented from developing the ability to become autonomous members of society. In addition she expresses her belief that women should be equal in marriage and viewed as companions through life, rather than serve the sole purpose of pleasing their husbands and serving as decorative ornaments in society.

Needless to say, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman is an influential and highly valuable piece in the history of feminist theory and activism, as it vividly portrays the political and social scene of the 18th century and marks the first step to the emancipation of women.

SEXUAL DISCOURSE
By: A. PISK

The name A. Pisk is not the author’s name. A pisk means “a mouth.” The author has chosen to keep her identity private because she is a 79-year-old grandmother and doesn’t want the frank language she uses to be associated with NANNY. She certainly stands behind all the ideas she expresses.

As a retired elementary school teacher, whose favorite subject is philosophy, the author’s goal is to clarify and get to the essence of a subject. She feels the world we share is filled with lots of information and misinformation, but often lacks wisdom. There is so much confusion and conflict, and she believes things can be simplified and made less stressful. Her intent is to help people find peace and happiness by showing the variety of human behavior and advocate for the tolerance and respect that we should show each other. So much needless pain is caused by ignorance and prejudice. We certainly have to fight what is wrong and harmful, but we should be able to recognize what is just different from our choices.

The author is also an artist who loves to bring beauty to others by her exploration of color, form, and texture. She experiments with many styles in her effort to create joyful images. This senior citizen has been painting and writing for more than 50 years and has written over a hundred poems and essays.

Bill Browder, the false crusader for justice and human rights and the self-proclaimed No. 1 enemy of Vladimir Putin has perpetrated a brazen and dangerous deception upon the Western world. Mr. Browder uses all of the smarmy language, and all of the tricks of the worst and most vicious sort of CIA propaganda, as we have witnessed its development and application over the last 70 years: demonization and flat out lies, the aims of which are destabilization, chaos, mayhem and “regime change” in Russia. The extent to which intelligent people fall for Browder tales uncritically is astounding.

Browder has been squashing any dissenting voices to his narrative: The Magnitsky Act ー Behind the Scenes documentary by Andrei Nekrasov has not been shown because the Browder lawyers had basically attacked everybody involved in trying show it. Alex Krainer’s book The Killing of William Browder: Deconstructing Bill Browder’s Dangerous Deception (now titled Grand Deception: The Browder Hoax) is banned on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble without any due process. A highly intelligent, frank and entertaining take-down of one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the US public and the world - The Magnitsky Act.

Browder's carefully cultivated and paid for image in the West (he was planning a movie about himself with the Weinstein brothers) is so at odds with the reality exposed here as to make up a kind of horror story effect out of Bram Stoker. Yet the way Alex Krainer tells it is both compelling and convincing. The thing is, no one else has looked at Browder's story critically. It was accepted as fact, with no corroboration of any sort, by a gullible, and probably complicit, US political establishment.

An even more terrifying question raised by the very existence of this book is: What was the interest of the US Senate and Congress in unquestionably believing this 'scheister,' Bill Browder, and using his outlandish and unsubstantiated claims to restart the Cold War and bring us to the brink of nuclear confrontation? As with a documentary about him by Nekrasov, called 'The Magnitsky Act - Behind the Scenes,' Browder has armies of lawyers trying to squelch any information coming out about him and the events he fabricated. Understandably, since the story he told is so shabby and full of holes that any light cast on it at all begins to crumble the fabric of it.

This is a meticulously scrupulous research of a fascinating tale whose protagonist has all the traits of a fiendish movie villain. Needless to point out, in the cacophonic pandemonium of relentless anti-Russian propaganda that permeates both political and mass-media scene in the West throughout 2017, Bill Browder, by trade a vulture investor, is depicted as akin to a holy warrior against the Devil himself, the Russian president Vladimir Putin.

In our increasingly insane world a fascinating tale of William Browder’s role in pushing the Magnitsky Act, that was passed in the U.S. Senate in order “to punish those suspected of being involved in the death of Russian tax lawyer Sergei Magnitsky,” might have eluded you. The Magnitsky Act that has passed the Congress on 3rd of January, 2012 resulted in blacklisting of five Russian nationals on 9th of January, 2017 and elevated Bill Browder, at least in his own eyes, to the status of a global human rights activist.

Enters “Grand Deception: The Browder Hoax” and shatters that delusion. Krainer mercilessly dissects Browder’s tale in the most minute details and, as he examines Browder’s numerous statements, he portrays Browder as he truly is: not a magnanimous human rights champion but rather a wicked purveyor of (other man’s) tragedy and salesman of (his own) self-aggrandizing fantasies. Bill Browder seems to me as a somehow cartoonish villain who makes us chuckle even while we shudder.

*** Original and unabridged content. Easy to read version. ***
First published anonymously due to its seditious content in 1776, the pamphlet argues for the need of American colonists to pursue complete independence from Great Britain, and not be driven simply by the urge to free themselves from unfair taxation. Paine provides argumentation for his revolutionary ideas, suggesting the unification of colonial forces to achieve this goal. Furthermore, Paine strengthens his case by clearly asserting the advantages that would come out as a result of independence, and further fortifies his argumentation with religious references. Written in a clear straightforward manner and comprehensible to the common people, Common Sense was immediately well-received after its publication, providing both inspiration and motivation to strive towards obtaining freedom. Consequently, the pamphlet was widely distributed and read at public events, while its ideas later earned Paine an important position in the country’s history.

Divided into four sections, Paine begins his work by distinguishing between government and society, suggesting that the purpose of the government is to protect society from their flawed nature. Paine illustrates the balance between society and government through a scenario in which a group of isolated people eventually surrender to the need of introducing regulations, which later results in the formation of a government. By providing such a scenario, Paine effectively creates a model which he argues is a better option for the American colonists. Subsequently, Paine goes on to analyze the validity of monarchy and hereditary succession through a biblical and historical perspective, as he provides evidence that support his views including biblical citations and an examination of historical events. Following his theoretical approach, Paine shifts his attention to giving a detailed account of the current circumstance of America, as he concentrates on supporting his claims calling for unity and independence.

Regarded as one the most influential pamphlets in American History, the pro-independence monograph pamphlet is a must-read for anyone interested in learning more about the American Revolution, as it was the most widely read pamphlet at the time. Needless to say, Common Sense gives an insight into the ideas and values that shaped the United States of America into the independent nation it is today.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Life in the 22nd Century-Project Minus Four【電子書籍】[ Jim Scarano ]

In this book, the author recommends a project that will ensure a crime-free, abundant 22nd century. He has aptly called this project “Project Minus Four”, which is intended to describe the four elemental concepts that need to be removed from a civilised society in order to free it from crime, poverty, social and national conflicts, domestic violence and needless tragedies, such as acts of terror, wars, buildings going up in flames, killing all who live in them, as well as all kinds of “accidents” that result on account of people being too anxious, too angry, too frustrated, or too tenseーall of which are a direct result of the pressure that the economic and/or the social system puts on them. In this book, the author has set down the details of how these problems are to be solved and what the society in the 22nd century can expect to be like if his Project Minus Four is implemented now.

“The growth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South Africa has been characterised by events of historical significance. These have, however, not been without challenges. The unfortunate government policy of apartheid has had a negative impact on the church and its mission. Sadly, the demise of apartheid did not immediately result in the amelioration of race relations. These testing times have in some instances misdirected and sapped the energy of the church. Needless to say, this has stifled the growth of the church over the years. Failure to keep the situation in check may also result in stagnation, and ultimately retrogression. Maintaining the same modus operandi would be imprudent because the situation calls for new approaches, fresh strategies, visionary leadership and the ability to identify opportunities to spread the gospel. To this end, the book The Reluctant Pulpit offers a critique of past practices, biases and cultures. It is an incisive interrogation of socio-political impediments to the growth of the gospel commission embraced by Adventists. It is a blueprint for soul winning, a repository for believers who have a burden for perishing souls and positive change for the good of Adventism and its posterity. This book is a masterfully penned piece of literature-interspersed with riveting and fascinating historical anecdotes.” ? Dr Mafu S Rakometsi

Mzanempi Clifford Nhlapo entered the gospel ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1988. His passion for socio-theological activism was recognised in the early 1990s when he was appointed Secretary of the South-East Region of the South African Council of Churches and Chairperson of the then Eastern-Transvaal Regional Peace Committee (RPC). In 1994, he was awarded the Golden Dove Peace Award and received the United Nations International Volunteer Award in 2001. Pastor Nhlapo has served as Executive Secretary of the Trans-Orange Conference and President of the KwaZulu-Natal Free State Conference. He currently serves in the Durban-south township of Umlazi.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak…" (2 Corinthians 4:13)

..if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you". (Mathew 17:20)

These scriptures reveal that faith is a Spiritual force. with supernatural capacity and ability to eliminate any obstacle of mountainous dimension.

Faith also places man in a realm, whereby, he becomes a master to circumstances and situations of impossible nature.

Importantly, faith is sensitive to the relationship between GOD and man.

As recorded in Hebrews 11:6, "…but without faith it is impossible to please God".

Since GOD is the source of life, it follows that a lifestyle void of faith (in what God had accomplished for mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ), is tantamount to conflicts and endless struggles.

Pastor Machi Mike Okenwa, in this anointed, revelation-pack, has made it easy for one to master the knowledge and application of faith.

The writing of this book also carries the assurance that the reader will no longer be a needless casualty of the aggressive and unfavorable circumstances of life, if work is added to theory.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Cherokee Physician Or Indian Guide to Health, as Given by Richard Foreman, a Cherokee Doctor【電子書籍】[ Richard Foreman ]

The extended title of The Cherokee Physician serves as an apt summary of its contents. The book was the result of a remarkable collaboration between James Mahoney, an Irish American and native Tennesseean, and Richard Foreman, whose parental ancestry was probably Scottish and Cherokee. Typical of its time, the book dispenses moral advice as cheerfully as medical advice. Needless to say, much of its advice flies in the face of modern medical practice and should not be applied. Foreman and Mahoney warn against sitting by an open window and offer conjecture, now disproven, about the pathologies of illnesses such as yellow fever and undulant fever ("milk sickness"). On the other hand, some of its cures have come into vogue or else find modern scientific endorsement, with examples from the text including the anti-inflammatory properties of red pepper and the usefulness of the European plantain.

The volume has intrigued homeopathic practitioners through the years, and attracted the interest of contemporaneous practitioners, including, for instance, one doctor who wrote to the Therapeutic Gazette (September 1881) to enthusiastically endorse its cure for "gravel" through Gravel Weed (Actinomeris Helianthoides). "Gravel" translates to kidney stones in contemporary parlance; modern homeopathic sources say little about the common flower's use as a diuretic, furnishing one example of knowledge in The Cherokee Physician that has escaped modern evaluation. The book offers, by slant, interesting ethnographic observations, equally unproven.

A DOCSOUTH BOOK.
THIS book aims to trace the development of Europe and its civilization, from the decline of the Roman Empire to the opening of the sixteenth century, for the benefit of the college student and the general reader. It is almost needless to say that such a work makes little claim to originality in method and still less in subject-matter, which it has shamelessly borrowed from numerous sources. Indeed, in a book of this sort it is more fitting to apologize for anything new that one says than for following in old and beaten tracks. The author, of course, hopes that without making too radical departures he has introduced some improvement in selection and presentation of material, and that he has made few mistakes of fact and interpretation...

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The lost knowledge of Alchemy【電子書籍】[ A.e. Waite ]

The Hermetic Tracts comprised in this volume are printed from a quarto manuscript (itself a transcript from an older but now untraceable work) belonging to the celebrated collection of the late Mr. Frederick Hockley, who was well known among modern students of the secret sciences, not only for the resources of his Hermetic library, but for his practical acquaintance with many branches of esoteric lore, and for his real or reputed connection with the numerous but unavowed associations which now, as at anterior periods, are supposed to dispense initiation into occult knowledge. While practically the reprint is verbatim, it would have been a needless source of confusion, in a subject which is already sufficiently confused, to have reproduced the obsolete orthography, the superfluous capitals, the perplexing parentheses, the unnecessary italics, and the chaotic punctuation of the original. These, therefore, have been abandoned in favour of a simpler method. But the flavour of antiquity is sometimes valued for its age rather than its excellence; and partly in deference to this prejudice, there has been no attempt to reconstruct the style of these old writings.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Within You Is The Power - Create the Life You Want【電子書籍】[ Henry Thomas Hamblin ]

There is a power lying hidden in man, by the use of which he can rise to higher and better things.

There is in man a greater Self, that transcends the finite self of the sense-man, even as the mountain towers above the plain.

The object of this little book is to help men and women to bring their inward powers of mind and spirit into expression, wisely and in harmony with universal law; to build up character, and to find within themselves that wondrous Self, which is their real self, and which, when found, reveals to them that they are literally and truly sons of God and daughters of the Most High.

There is no way whereby the discipline of life can be avoided. There is no means by which fate can be "tricked," nor cunning device by which the great cosmic plan can be evaded. Each life must meet its own troubles and difficulties: each soul must pass through its deep waters, every heart must encounter sorrow and grief. But none need be overwhelmed in the great conflicts of life, for one who has learned the great secret of his identity with the Universal life and Power, dwells in an impregnable city, built upon and into the Rock of Truth, against which the storms of life beat in vain.
While this little work does not offer any vain promises of an easy lifeーfor, if this were possible, it would be the greatest of all disastersーbut rather endeavours to show how to become so strong that life looks almost easy by comparison (the life or fate does not change or become easier, but the individual alters and becomes stronger), yet, it does show the reader how to avoid making his life more difficult than it need be. Most people's lives would be less filled with trouble and suffering if they took life in the right spirit and acted in harmony with Universal Law.

It is hoped that this little book may help many to come into harmony with life's law and purpose and thus avoid much needless suffering: to find the Greater Self within, which discovery brings with it a realization of absolute security: to bring into expression and wisely use their inner spiritual and mental forces and thus enter a life of overcoming and almost boundless power.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge [Halls of Wisdom]【電子書籍】[ George Berkeley ]

What I here make public has, after a long and scrupulous inquiry, seemed to me evidently true and not unuseful to be known--particularly to those who are tainted with Scepticism, or want a demonstration of the existence and immateriality of God, or the natural immortality of the soul. Whether it be so or no I am content the reader should impartially examine; since I do not think myself any farther concerned for the success of what I have written than as it is agreeable to truth. But, to the end this may not suffer, I make it my request that the reader suspend his judgment till he has once at least read the whole through with that degree of attention and thought which the subject-matter shall seem to deserve. For, as there are some passages that, taken by themselves, are very liable (nor could it be remedied) to gross misinterpretation, and to be charged with most absurd consequences, which, nevertheless, upon an entire perusal will appear not to follow from them; so likewise, though the whole should be read over, yet, if this be done transiently, it is very probable my sense may be mistaken; but to a thinking reader, I flatter myself it will be throughout clear and obvious. As for the characters of novelty and singularity which some of the following notions may seem to bear, it is, I hope, needless to make any apology on that account. He must surely be either very weak, or very little acquainted with the sciences, who shall reject a truth that is capable of demonstration, for no other reason but because it is newly known, and contrary to the prejudices of mankind. Thus much I thought fit to premise, in order to prevent, if possible, the hasty censures of a sort of men who are too apt to condemn an opinion before they rightly comprehend it...

____

[Halls of Wisdom]

From Buddha to Confucius to Plato and down the spiral of time to Kant, Nietzsche and Russell, the Halls of Wisdom are filled to overflowing, yet barely full. Explore the cavernous teachings of the masters, get lost in the art of wonder, and fall in love with wisdom.
The only thing you can lose are your chains.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Maximize Life by Living for Peace, Harmony, and Joy【電子書籍】[ Dr. Robert H. Schram ]

Maximize Life by Living for Peace, Harmony, and Joy is about living each moment every day and realizing that life is what you make it. Each chapter is organized on a single page by theme followed by an open description of the authors personal experience. It presents a model for readers to write their own stories, plumbing their past and looking ahead to their futures. This intensely personal book lays bare the authors experience with the intent that the reader will do the same for his/her own sake, and, like the author, end the better for it.

Chapter examples are as follows:

For every act of violence, there are thousands of acts of human kindness. We read and hear about acts of violence and hatred taking place everywhere in the world, and it is easy to allow this bad news to obfuscate all the wonderful and kind acts that occur every moment of every day.

Whenever someone is in need, there is always some kind soul to help. Whenever there is a job to be done, there is always someone ready to step forward and help get it done. Whenever there is a tragedy, there are always people who go out of their way to assist. There is never a shortage of kind, gentle, and helping people. Out of every need, out of every job that has to get done, out of every tragedy comes the absolute beauty of human kindness with its clarion call that life is a priceless gift without compare. Open your life to the goodness all around you.

ME - I see acts of human kindness from the time I get up in the morning until I go to sleep at night. Whenever there is an accident on the road, people always stop to help. Whenever I am short-staffed at BARC, people always step forward to help. Whenever I travel, people are always available to help me find my way; they even offer food and shelter. I no longer watch the news on television because of its overwhelming emphasis on negative, twisted kharma; all I see are people hurting other people, fires, and natural disasters. I much prefer to watch my neighbor cut the lawn of our elderly neighbor or teach his children how to ride their bicycles.

YOU -

Being upset usually serves no useful purpose because it can take you away from the determination that success requires. When were upset, we tend to make foolish and unnecessary mistakes that leave us further rather than closer to our goal. Being upset from an emotionally trying event is natural and healthy; carrying the upset for days or weeks after the emotionally trying event is unhealthy and unnecessary as it serves no useful purposeit only keeps you stuck on the things that have become part of your historical past. Being upset about future events is also needless and unhealthy since your rumination is not useful.

If you encounter obstacles, accept them, live with them, and keep moving toward whatever it is you want, with renewed determination and assuredness.

ME - When I am upset, it goes right to my digestive system. I now know that if I could more quickly express my feelings of anger, I could avoid a lot of time in the bathroom. I have learned, through many years of practice, to let go of being upset for some future event. I was able to accomplish this in a step-by-step fashion: 1. I remind myself that being upset is of no value; 2. I concentrate on not ruminating about whats upsetting me by doing other things; 3. I remind myself of my past experience with the futility of being upset; 4. I reduce the time I devote to being upset; 5. I stop feeling upset.

YOU

Live a worry free life. When you analyze your worry, you will find it needless since it is usually about things you cannot control anyway: someones illness, the weather, how people will perceive you. Value does not emanate from worry; anxiety and fear emanate from worry. Why not stop worrying and just be?

Begin by transforming your worry into some positive action. If you are worried about your speech to the Ki

Or Future Earth【電子書籍】[ D. Patrick Georges ]

You have no financial or medical concerns and you get to be Head of State one day, but you got to hand over your kids to their grandparents when they are one year old. How would you like to live in such a paradise, son?

Decades after his godfather told him this bizarre story, the author--a businessman and professor of management with no interest whatsoever in metaphysics--felt he could no longer keep to himself such visions of future heaven or hell. To write and publish a book is an uphill battle, rarely leading to success. But to con somebody else to write and publish a book surely would deserve the Nobel Prize in perseverance. Such a prize is now posthumously awarded to the author's godfather, Anthony. It took him a total of 64 years in life and death to make his unstoppable resolve to get this book written and published a reality.

In 1931, it seemed that Anthony had made it. The owner of two thriving businesses, he now had time to indulge in his passion in the form of a hobby: cars. He chanced upon the decaying carcass of a 1918 one-ton Ford Model TT truck that a farmer used as a chicken coop. The master auto mechanic in him urged him to restore it to its former glory. He rented a large garage near the center of town and with a true collector's detachment began scavenging the area for parts.

Without warning, Anthony's happy life started unraveling the following year. At first he acted as if absent-minded. Slowly he started losing interest in his work, including his love for cars. He started going to work late and leaving early. Much to the worry of relatives and close friends, he slept every night in the garage, while his visits to his fiance's house all but stopped. By early 1933 his businesses started sliding into the red. Too honest not to pay his workers, he defaulted on payments to creditors who soon forced him into bankruptcy. As one might expect, his would-be father-in-law gave him a royal dressing down and--much to his daughters chagrin--broke off the engagement.

When asked what was wrong, Anthony would reply vaguely that he was visiting another planet where he saw wondrous things that put life on Earth to shame. He began to criticize living and working conditions on Earth, both as he knew them by experience and as he learned about them in those days' media: the press, movies, theater, radio and stories of travelers to other countries. At the same time he changed his appearance and behavior to conform to the standards in force on what he called "that other planet." Needless to say, his antics soon earned him the status of the neighborhood idiot. His friends, even some of his relatives, avoided him like the plague while some openly ridiculed him.

Though far from being convinced about the merits of Anthony's tale, the author confessed that as he gained more education and experience, he began to notice the conviction with which his godfather talked about his improbable experience. No doubt to him it was the real thing. There must be some merit in his godfather's tale for two rock-solid reasons, he concluded. First, no man with an eighth-grade education could dream up sophisticated socio-political systems such as those he described as existing on "that other planet." And second, even if he could, he would not have been consistent in his storytelling.

Convinced that his godfather's tale should somehow be preserved--though at that time he had no clear reason in mind--the author decided to take a week's vacation and debrief Anthony in a comprehensive, systematic way, much like a research project. Long after Anthony's death and with the encouragement of business associates, unwittingly the process started that enabled the author to finally deliver the promise he gave his grossly misunderstood godfather on the latter's death bed: to write and p

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Hungry for Life A Vision of the Church That Would Transform the World【電子書籍】[ David J. Blundell ]

Hungry For Life has articulated a bold vision to see the world transformed by a global movement of compassion and justice evidenced by the eradication of needless suffering. However, this vision will only be realized when selfless values and resulting actions are lived out by an ever increasing number of Gods people. The author presents a concise summary of physical poverty in the developing world and spiritual poverty in the developed world. Against the backdrop of these problems, he then paints a biblical picture of a compassionate community of faith, comparing the contemporary Western Church against what it was intended to look like. The final section includes the core value changes necessary for the Church to rediscover its place as a relevant force of love and compassion. This book is a prophetic call for followers of Christ, and specifically their leaders, to move away from religious institutionalism and move toward lives of simplicity and compassion.

About the Author and his Blessings The sky was so beautiful with its background of pale blues and white clouds. It was so quiet that it seemed as if time had stood still. It just did not seem possible that only a few miles away in the jungle, the war was still raging on. As I sat on the rooftop reading a western paperback, I heard a voice that seemed to say my name. I saw no one and continued to read. Again, I heard a voice, this time I looked all around and saw no one and then I looked at the sky and saw our Savior, Jesus Christ, all in white with the gold sash around his middle and he was standing in the sky with his arms outstretched, you could see the nail holes in his hands. As I looked upon his face I saw tears flowing down his cheeks. I looked away for I could not believe what I saw, but as I looked again Jesus Christ was still there. The tears were there as if he was taking all the suffering going on in Vietnam upon himself. Needless to say, I fell to my knees with tears flowing from my eyes. After a few moments I opened my eyes again and Jesus was gone. As God is my Heavenly Father, I was blessed to see his Son. I asked others if they saw, but no one had. I was doing nothing related to religion, so my question has always been ... Why me Lord? Maybe this book is the reason. My second Blessing occurred on December 14, 1988, at my church. I had just learned that my son David had died. The pain was so intense, it was if I had a nail in my heart. I went into the sanctuary and sat down. My grief was so great I could hardly breathe. My tears would not stop. My Pastor came to me and asked what was wrong. I told him and he said, let us pray. We did and afterwards I said I would like to be alone. After he left, I arose and knelt at the altar and cried out to God saying, You lost your Son and you know the pain, now I have lost mine, please take this pain from me. At that very instant the pain was gone and a peace came upon me. To this day I think of my son only with tears, but no pain. My third Blessing was more recent. My knees had been injured when I was in the Army paratroopers and I had to use crutches when the pain became unbearable. The doctors said I must have both knees replaced but I said later. Again I went to God and asked for his help and praying to him to take this pain away and immediately I got up and walked without crutches. Additional help also came from a stranger who asked if I had tried a herb compound called Glucosamine/ Chondroitin/MSM. I said no, but Ill try anything. He emphasized it must contain MSM. I take 3 tablets a day and with faith in God, I put the crutches away. Some would say that I am witnessing and they would be right. I want everyone in the world to know God is always there for you. You may receive an answer to your request immediately or it may come about in another way. The main thing is always have faith, read your Bible and praise God. The author is a retired officer who served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army and was medically discharged on May 1, 1972. 【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】How Jesus Was Lost in the Bible …And Found【電子書籍】[ Floyd Hale ]

The long "Quest of the Historical Jesus" has come to an end--according to Floyd Hale, the author of HOW JESUS WAS LOST IN THE BIBLE ... AND FOUND. This is a brief review in his own words.

Jesus was the "first Gandhi" (to sum it up in one statement). To make this obvious I first show--"by the Scriptures"--that all the other images and titles laid on Jesus after his death by the Church are false. That takes a few pages of what may be considered boring by some--even heresy by others.

The real Jesus' primary task was to pick and train dedicated followers who would conduct nothing short of a revolution--"nonviolently." Needless to say this would cause enemies, whom they were to "love"--while "hating" their own families. Words like these have caused Bible scholars to miss seeing Jesus applied this kind of teaching to those whom he would "send out," and not to "all believers." Jesus's execution as a seditionist by the Romans stopped the "revolution" before it started. No "sender-outer," no revolution. But the "edited"plans were well remembered and can be gleaned from the Gospels. This reveals the image the "planner."

Jesus was a Humanist and needs to be rescued from the Bible and let stand in History on his own, no longer shackled by religion. One of the purposes of this book is an effort to do just that.

A full Review of "How Jesus Was Lost ... And Found," is Mike Travelstead's Review which follows:

___________________________________________

How Jesus Was Lost in the Bible and Found by Floyd Hale Reviewed by Mike Travelstead, Macedonia, IL

In his latest of several self-published books, The Reverend Floyd Hale has taken on the Herculean task of redefining Jesus the Christ. Having read all of the previous books, which were thought-provoking for truth-seekers, I found this latest volume most compelling, following a consistent logic, using much illustration, explanation, and scriptural reference.

If readers approach the text with an open mind and critical attitude, they will be rewarded with a cogent argument worthy of reflection, one that re-shapes the image of Jesus, who has had a profound and far-reaching effect on the history of our world.

The thesis of How Jesus Was Lost in the Bible and Found claims that the traditional titles applied to JesusChrist, Messiah, Savior, Son of God, Son of Manby the church are false because the Old Testament prophecies did not apply to him nor foretell him. Some liberal Biblical scholars have denied the divinity of Jesus, but maintain that he was a wise teacher. The Reverend Hale goes further by insisting that Jesus commanded his followers not just to believe, but to act. He trained them to conduct a non-violent revolution designed to change the system, a system which oppressed the poor and suffering. Later leaders, like Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., adopted this sacrificial but effective technique. However, Jesus plan was aborted by his premature execution.

Hales style is conversational, infused with Southern Illinois humor, some references which may not be readily apparent to younger readers. Some analogies, too, are quite instructive. I like especially the football analogy he uses at the end. Hale speculates that Jesus has a dream," in which he forms a team that will carry the ball, but he dies a moment before kick-off. The game is called for a memorial service. But instead of going back to the field, they continue conducting memorial services. That is powerful.

This plan never came to fruition because, as Hale claims, Jesus followers misinterpreted his idea of the Kingdom. As the early church was being established, many different beliefs contended for precedence. The historical figure who virtually single-handedly created the Christian Church as it is known was St. Paul. Completely ignoring the stories of Jesus miraculous birth, Paul emphasizes the resurrection as the basis of his faith, hoping for eternal salvation sometime in the future. Hale maintains that Jesus preaching of the Kingdom defines eternal as nowthe Kingdom of God is here right now. This definition of eternal may not be the common perception, but Joseph Campbell, the late world renowned expert on world mythology and important influence on George Lucas Star Wars, also defines eternal as the here and now.

Floyd Hale is no stranger to controbersy. His writing and preaching over the years have created no small amount of unrest, readers and listeners experiencing bewielderment, disbelief, and even anger. But he has kindly and courageously held the line. His background is much like many of us who grew up in the traditional church environment, a literal reading of the Bible, with apparent contradictions which were not allowed to be questioned, fear instilled by a wrathful God who punishes and rewards. Hale entered seminary with a desire to "preach the word" and perpetuate the system, but his God-given intellect forced him to reconsider the orthodoxy. This has led him on a lifelong quest for truth, but it is a difficult and sometimes lonely road, "the road not taken" as Robert Frost would have it.

Others have written on similar topics. One especially like it is Why Christianity Must Change or Die by John Shelby Spong, retired dishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark. Spong maintains that in light of scientific advancement and modern biblical criticism, the church must implement this knowledge or become irrelevant, or even extinct. Floyd Hale may have the idea that could solve this problem.
