For the analysis many videos where the gesture occurs were watched and analysed after the standards defined in the project 'Towards a grammar of gesture' . The videos were taken from TV-shows and political debates. It has been audited how the gesture changes in different contexts. Therefore the fist was analysed in three different contexts: description, appeal and expression. All these examples are visualized through pictures taken from the recordings. The analysis is based on a theoretical background of historical classifications of gestures by Adam Kendon, David McNeill and Cornelia M?ller and is modelled on foreign works on that topic by M?ller and Silva Ladewig. ----- Zun?chst werde ich einen kurzen ?berblick ?ber die Gestenforschung in der Linguistik geben.
