The Science of Living With Honesty and Integrity

Table of Contents
Introduction
Earning Good Karma.
Quite an honest man!
Let My Conscience Speak for Me
Black, Gray and White ? Inflexibility And Compromise.
Walk Quietly by, by the Other Side
Conclusion
Author Bio

Introduction
"Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling the truth to other people."- Spencer Johnson.
I was reading a story by a French writer, in the 17th century, and I found this line very amusing.
"The more he talked about his honesty, the faster we counted our spoons."
Well, cynicism is definitely not something new in the 21st century. It has passed down the ages, and especially, when Shakespeare said "The lady doth protest too much, methinks," when he wrote Hamlet in 1602. Here was a clear-sighted person who knew that somebody was trying to persuade herself and trying to pretend to the world that what she was saying was her own belief and the truth as she saw it.
How many of us are self-deceivers? Some of us will not and cannot face reality. Some of us are ready to blame others for our shortcomings. Some of us are quite prepared to fight for what we consider to be the truth, because we have expounded it, and we want other people to share our beliefs and thoughts.

Be honest with yourself. Once you have faced reality, you can be honest with others.
Honesty, especially when you are able to face reality, and you can understand that you are in the wrong or you are in the right is something very few people can do. They would rather stick their heads in the sand, hoping against hope that the problem is going to go away. Of course, they were not responsible for that particular problem. It just happened.
I was reading a Novel by Amanda Quick in which the whole family decided that they belonged to Bad blood, which was frivolous, spendthrift, and definitely not responsible. That is why they could fob off all their extravagances, and stupid behavior, to this excuse, "we cannot help it, our ancestors were like that and they passed on their habits to us."
This was Regency England. Even today, we have plenty of people using the same excuse, because they are definitely not honest enough to admit it that they do not have the strength or the willpower or the inclination to make something of themselves.
They would rather go with the wind, and pretend helplessly, that they really cannot do something, because, well, they are not capable of doing that. They belong to a genetically imperfect family, they do not have any money, they have always been pulled down by circumstances and situations, and other such puerile and feeble excuses. These are just ways and means in which they can shirk their responsibilities.
These people are slackers and freeloaders. They are not honest, to themselves, or to others, however much they may pretend to be honest in the given sense of the word. They also do not have personal integrity.

The Art of Getting Things Done Even on Your Worst Days Without Burnout【電子書籍】[ ASHLEY L. JOHANSEN ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Art of Getting Things Done Even on Your Worst Days Without Burnout【電子書籍】[ ASHLEY L. JOHANSEN ]

You are not lazy. You are operating inside a broken execution system.

If you regularly know exactly what needs to be done yet still struggle to startーor finishーyou are experiencing the intention-to-action gap. Tasks linger for days. Important projects stall. Motivation comes in short bursts, followed by burnout, guilt, and self-doubt. This book was written to interrupt that cycle.

The Art of Getting Things Done is not about hustle, discipline, or trying harder. It is about designing a system that works even when you are tired, stressed, or emotionally resistant.

Most productivity advice fails because it treats execution as a personality trait. You are told to wake up earlier, push harder, or "just do it." When that fails, you blame yourself. But the real problem is not effortーit is structure. Vague goals, emotionally heavy tasks, and unclear starting points quietly sabotage follow-through. Over time, this erodes trust in your own ability to act.

This book reframes execution as a design problem, not a motivation problem.

Inside this practical, system-driven guide, you will learn:

How to eliminate the mental friction that causes procrastination
Why vague goals silently block action and how to define "done" precisely
How to use the Outcome?Action Filter to force clarity and momentum
How to identify the emotional weight that makes tasks feel impossible
How to dissolve perfectionism and fear at the starting line
How to build a reliable system that works on low-energy days
How to stop productive avoidance and focus on high-leverage work
How to lower resistance so starting becomes easier than delaying
How to design daily structures that automate follow-through
How to replace willpower with repeatable execution mechanics

Unlike motivational productivity books, this guide respects reality. It assumes distraction, fear, fatigue, and imperfect days. Instead of asking you to feel motivated, it shows you how to make action unavoidable. As clarity replaces ambiguity, tasks lose their emotional weight. Starting becomes mechanical. Finishing becomes normal.

You stop negotiating with yourself. You stop carrying guilt. You begin to trust that when something matters, it will get done.

This book is ideal for professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone exhausted by knowing what to do but struggling to do it consistently.

Stop waiting for motivation to rescue you.
Stop blaming yourself for system failures.

Order your copy today and build a calm, reliable execution system that finishes what mattersーespecially on your worst days. Design your structure. Restore your follow-through. Start now.

The Goals You Set and The Reasons They Keep Failing Exploring Motivation Patterns, Sustainable Drive, and Alignment Beyond Willpower【電子書籍】[ Talia Westcott ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Goals You Set and The Reasons They Keep Failing Exploring Motivation Patterns, Sustainable Drive, and Alignment Beyond Willpower【電子書籍】[ Talia Westcott ]

You set the goal with full intentionーlose weight, finish the project, build the habit, change your life. The first week feels promising. Then momentum fades, excuses pile up, and you're back where you started, wondering why discipline never sticks. Maybe you blame laziness. Maybe you try harder next time. Maybe you quietly believe you're just not the kind of person who follows through. This book explores goal-setting not as a willpower problem, but as a psychological mismatch between the goal itself and how human motivation actually works. It examines why vague aspirations collapse under daily friction, the difference between extrinsic pressure and intrinsic pull, and the exhaustion of chasing goals that sound impressive but feel hollow. It looks at unrealistic timelines, all-or-nothing thinking, shame-based motivation, and the way goals rooted in "should" drain energy instead of generating it. Rather than prescribing productivity hacks or self-discipline tactics, this book reframes effective goal-setting as alignment between your values, capacity, and nervous system. It explores specificity, flexibility, sustainable pacing, the intelligence of small commitments, and the relief of building goals that respect how you actually function instead of how you think you should. For anyone stuck in cycles of ambition and burnout, tired of motivational speeches that don't translate to action, or questioning whether the problem is the goal or the approachーthis book offers insight into the psychology beneath follow-through, permission to design goals that fit your actual life, and clarity about the difference between striving and sustainable growth.

Safety Always, Not Safety First【電子書籍】[ Lucas (Luke) Dam ]

Safety Always, Not Safety First: An ICAM-Centred Perspective

For decades, organisations have declared Safety Firstー and yet serious incidents, repeated failures, and organisational harm continue to occur.

This book explains why.

Safety Always, Not Safety First challenges one of the most familiar phrases in safety by exposing a hard truth: when safety is treated as a priority, it becomes negotiable. Under pressure, priorities shift. Systems drift. People adapt. And harm becomes possibleー not because people don't care, but because the system quietly allows it.

Grounded in ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) thinking and written in plain, practical language, this book reframes safety as an outcome of system design rather than individual behaviour. It moves beyond unsafe acts, compliance checklists, and blame-based investigations to explore how real work is shaped by planning decisions, leadership trade-offs, workload, resourcing, and organisational culture.

Drawing on realistic, de-identified incident examples, the book shows how:

Safety failures are rarely caused by poor choices made in isolation

Behaviour is shaped by conditions, not attitudes

Organisations drift into failure through success and adaptation

Leadership decisions made far from the frontline shape everyday risk

Investigations often fail to produce learning, and how ICAM fixes this

The same system conditions underpin safety incidents, bullying, quality failures, safeguarding breakdowns, and ethical breaches

This is not an academic text. It is written for people who work in real organisations under real pressureー leaders, safety professionals, investigators, supervisors, and those new to safety who sense there must be a better way than repeating the same corrective actions.

At its core, this book makes a simple but powerful argument:

Safety is not something people need to prioritise harder.
Safety is something organisations must design for.

By shifting the focus from slogans to systems, from blame to learning, and from compliance to capability, Safety Always, Not Safety First offers a mature, practical path toward safer, more resilient organisations.

Because safety is not first.
Safety is not last.
Safety is how work gets done.

Author Susan Leys, M.Ed., has spent 30+ years coaching over 4,000 healthcare professionals through crisis and burnout in some of the nation's most demanding medical environments. She's seen what works and what doesn't when people are truly depleted.

It's grounded in science, not speculation. Every strategy is supported by peer-reviewed research from leading institutions. You'll find 34 citations from psychology, neuroscience, and medical journalsーbecause you deserve evidence, not empty promises.

It gives you options, not obligations. Just a clear, compassionate roadmap from where you are now to where you want to beーcreated specifically for people too burned out to wade through fluff.

Inside, You'll Discover:

The three dimensions of burnoutーand why understanding them changes your entire recovery approach

Why you feel guilty for being tiredーand how to release the shame that's keeping you stuck

The truth about boundariesーspecific techniques for saying no without destroying relationships

What actually restores energyーhint: it's not just rest (though that matters too)

How to identify your personal burnout signatureーyour triggers, patterns, and early warning signs

The role of sleep, movement, connection, values, and self-awarenessーcomplete with practical weekly practices you can actually do

When to seek professional helpーbecause sometimes burnout requires more than self-help

How to prevent it from happening againーsustainable practices that protect your wellbeing long-term

This Book Is For You If:

? You're exhausted no matter how much you sleep ? You've tried "self-care" and it hasn't helped ? You feel cynical about work you used to love ? You're worried you might have to quit your job to survive ? You want solutions backed by actual research ? You need strategies you can implement today, not someday

What You Won't Find Here:

? Blame or judgment for being burned out ? Unrealistic advice that ignores real-life constraints ? Generic platitudes about "thinking positive" ? Pressure to meditate for hours or overhaul your entire life overnight

The Reality:

Recovery from burnout takes time. It requires consistent effort and self-compassion. But it is absolutely possibleーand you don't have to do it alone.

Whether you're a healthcare professional managing impossible patient loads, a corporate executive drowning in deadlines, a teacher stretched impossibly thin, or anyone else who's given everything until there's nothing leftーthis book provides the evidence-based tools you need to recover.

You deserve to feel energized again.
A Brothel Has Less Debt Than Pakistan Strings Attached, #3【電子書籍】[ Manas Swain ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】A Brothel Has Less Debt Than Pakistan Strings Attached, #3【電子書籍】[ Manas Swain ]

A Brothel Has Less Debt Than Pakistan is not a slogan. It is a diagnosis.

This book delivers a hard, uncompromising examination of Pakistan's long descent into permanent debt, bailout dependency, and policy paralysis. Using economic data, political analysis, and systemic case studies, Manas Swain dissects how a nation with strategic importance, human capital, and resilience became trapped in a cycle where survival replaced sovereignty.

From IMF bailouts treated as governance tools to institutions that normalize loss, from elite immunity and selective enforcement to the quiet collapse of credibility in global finance, this book exposes the mechanisms that keep the crisis alive. It explains why debt no longer behaves like a temporary burden, why reforms stall after every rescue, and why ordinary citizens pay while power remains insulated.

The controversial title reflects public anger, not financial arithmetic. It captures the humiliation felt when a state negotiates its future in installments while postponing accountability. Inside, the analysis moves beyond metaphor into method, showing how ambiguity in security policy, economic mismanagement, and symbolic politics extract a hidden but relentless cost.

This is not a book of slogans, patriotism, or blame-shifting. It is a serious, evidence-driven critique of governance failure, elite capture, and the price of delay. It asks an uncomfortable but necessary question: when survival becomes the national achievement, who is the country really being governed for?

Written in a sharp, disciplined voice, A Brothel Has Less Debt Than Pakistan is for readers who want clarity over comfort, analysis over reassurance, and truth over denial.

Governance Blind Spots: Employees Never Face Individuals【電子書籍】[ NG TICK KEE ]

You think you are facing a person. But you are facing a system.

When communication fails repeatedly, when problems are seen but never fixed, and when those who stay are the first to burn out, we tend to blame individuals: "The boss is bad," "The manager is incompetent." "Governance Blind Spots" reveals a terrifying structural truth: The governance object was never a person.

Ng Tick Kee (?明序然) argues that what you experience as "a person's reaction" is actually a system's boundary expressing itself through a role. This implies a ruthless conclusion: If you are in a governance blind spot, no amount of effort will ever be fed back into the system.

Core Insights:

The Illusion of Personality: Why replacing the manager never solves the problem. You are fighting a "Projection," not a person.

Governance Blind Spots: A state where the system operates but never includes you in its feedback loop. Your participation produces no influence, and your exit requires no explanation.

Do Employees Have Governance Rights? Governance rights are not about your title; they are about whether your behavior can modify the system. If not, you are just fuel.

Exit as Responsibility: When governance fails, "Withdrawal" and "Density Reduction" are not escapeーthey are the only legitimate governance actions remaining.

This is not a motivational book. It is a determination text. It will not teach you how to "manage up." It will help you determine if you are structurally excluded from the system, so you can stop paying the cost of a wrong structure as if it were your duty.

The Money Engine: Why Wealth Grows for Some and Evaporates for Others【電子書籍】[ Gudani C Mudau ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Money Engine: Why Wealth Grows for Some and Evaporates for Others【電子書籍】[ Gudani C Mudau ]

This book will dismantle the anxious, envious, and passive mindset you've inherited about money and replace it with the calm, strategic clarity of a systems engineer.

It will explode the myths that tie your self-worth to your salary, that blame poverty on laziness, and that treat wealth as a mysterious birthright. In their place, you will develop a cold, mechanical understanding of money as a current of energy moving through social and economic structures. You will stop seeing yourself as a victim of circumstance or a passive consumer and start seeing yourself as the operator and architect of a financial machine.

Your thinking will shift from short-term urgency to long-term strategy. You will no longer ask, "Can I afford this?" as a monthly panic, but rather, "Does this move strengthen my financial architecture?" You will learn to celebrate invisible structures over visible symbols, the growing investment statement over the new car, and the paid-off mortgage over the luxury vacation. The exhausting emotional rollercoaster of financial anxiety will be replaced by the quiet confidence of measured progress and protected margins.

Most importantly, this book will liberate you from the tyranny of the pay cheque. It will rewire your identity from "earner" or "spender" to "steward" and "builder." You will stop chasing income and start building capital. You will understand that true wealth is not about amassing luxury but about cultivating options, the freedom to choose your work, your time, and your life's direction from a foundation of unshakeable security.

By the end, you won't just think differently about money. You will perceive a hidden layer of reality beneath every transaction, every financial headline, and every life choice. You will possess the engineer's mindset: patient, principled, and powerfully focused on building a system that works for you, permanently.

Discipline is Permanent.【電子書籍】[ Siddhi Sunil Chavan ]

Motivation feels powerfulーbut it is unreliable.

Some days it fuels ambition, clarity, and action. On other days, it disappears without warning, leaving behind guilt, confusion, and stalled progress. Most people spend their lives waiting for motivation to return, believing that consistency depends on feeling inspired.

This book challenges that belief.

Motivation Is Seasonal. Discipline Is Permanent explores a simple but often ignored truth: emotions are not designed to sustain long-term effort. Motivation rises and falls. Willpower exhausts. Emotional energy fluctuates. Yet life continues to demand commitment, responsibility, and follow-through.

This book is not about forcing productivity or suppressing emotions. It is about understanding themーwithout letting them control your actions.

Through clear, grounded insights, the first part of this book explains why motivation cannot be trusted as a foundation for growth, and why emotional readiness is a poor requirement for consistency. It examines how mood-based decision-making quietly sabotages progress and erodes self-trust, even in highly capable individuals.

The second part shifts the focus to disciplineーnot as punishment or rigidity, but as emotional independence. Discipline is presented as the ability to act without negotiating with your feelings, to remain steady when emotions fluctuate, and to continue showing up without relying on internal excitement or pressure.

This book is written for readers who:

Start strong but struggle to stay consistent

Feel capable, yet frequently lose momentum

Depend on motivation and then blame themselves when it fades

Want inner stability, not constant emotional effort

You will not find hype, shortcuts, or exaggerated promises in these pages. Instead, you will find clarityーabout why discipline matters, why emotions are unreliable leaders, and how consistency begins with understanding the limits of motivation itself.

You do not need to feel ready to change your life.

You need to stop waiting for feelings to decide for you.

This book is the beginning of that shift.

Incentives Rule the World

A Practical Framework for Redesigning Incentives for Long-Term Value

Why do well-intentioned systems so often produce harmful results?
Why do organizations reward behaviors they claim to oppose?
Why do policies designed to help society sometimes create the opposite effect?

The answer is simplerーand more powerfulーthan it appears: incentives.

In Incentives Rule the World, Laura Lee Lauxon reveals how incentive structures quietly shape individual behavior, organizational decisions, and societal outcomesーoften driving short-term gains at the expense of long-term value. Drawing from behavioral economics, systems thinking, and real-world examples, this book offers a clear, practical framework for understanding why incentives fail and how they can be redesigned to work forーnot againstーhuman and institutional well-being. Rather than focusing on blame or ideology, this book equips readers with tools to:

Identify misaligned incentives that create unintended consequences

Understand how incentives influence decision-making across systems

Redesign incentive structures to promote ethical, sustainable outcomes

Shift organizations and societies away from short-term harm toward long-term value creation

Whether you are a business leader, policymaker, entrepreneur, strategist, or concerned citizen, Incentives Rule the Worldprovides a systems-level lens for diagnosing broken outcomes and building smarter, more resilient solutions.

This is not a theoretical critiqueーit is a practical guide for anyone seeking to create lasting positive impact in organizations, institutions, and society at large.

Because when incentives change, everything changes.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Year Doesn't Start When They Say It Does Breaking Free from False Deadlines【電子書籍】[ Matthew Petchinsky ]

The Year Doesn't Start When They Say It Does challenges one of the most quietly damaging assumptions of modern life: that progress must begin on someone else's schedule. From January resets to age-based milestones and social deadlines, we are taught to measure our worth by how well we keep up with an invisible calendar.

This book offers a different approach.

Rather than rejecting responsibility or ambition, it teaches readers how to reclaim authority over timing. Through calm, grounded frameworks, it reveals how borrowed urgency creates anxiety, burnout, and self-blame-and how internal readiness, capacity, and alignment produce more sustainable growth.

You'll learn how to recognize imposed timelines, separate social rhythm from personal necessity, and restart goals, identities, or directions without shame-even when others appear far ahead. The focus is not speed, motivation hacks, or forced momentum, but coherence: movement that fits your actual life.

Designed for global relevance and lifelong reuse, this book helps you design a personal rhythm that works across seasons, disruptions, and transitions. It is for anyone who feels perpetually "behind," exhausted by false deadlines, or pressured to begin before they are ready.

The year does not start when they say it does.

It starts when you do.

Cold Start Human Rebooting Motivation Without Forcing Momentum【電子書籍】[ Matthew Petchinsky ]

Cold Start Human: Rebooting Motivation Without Forcing Momentum is a calm, grounded guide for restarting life after exhaustion, burnout, illness, disruption, or prolonged stress. Instead of demanding discipline, urgency, or instant clarity, this book offers a human-first approach to rebuilding momentum gently-without shame or collapse.

Modern culture treats motivation as something you should be able to summon on command. When that fails, people blame themselves. Cold Start Human reframes this entirely, showing that resistance is often a signal of depleted capacity rather than laziness or lack of willpower. Drawing on biology, lived experience, and sustainable systems thinking, the book teaches readers how to restore energy first, rebuild trust through small actions, and move forward at a pace the nervous system can actually support.

Designed for January resets but effective year-round, Cold Start Human speaks to anyone who feels behind, stuck, or burned out by traditional self-help intensity. It replaces hype with steadiness, pressure with permission, and speed with continuity.

This is not a book about pushing harder.

It is a book about starting again-safely, intelligently, and in a way that lasts.

Black Poverty: A Story of Leadership and Policy Failures Africa Institutional Economics Series, #1【電子書籍】[ Justin Nyoni ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Black Poverty: A Story of Leadership and Policy Failures Africa Institutional Economics Series, #1【電子書籍】[ Justin Nyoni ]

The definitive, data-driven critique of why promising nations declineーand the institutional reforms required for Africa's resurgence.

Zimbabwe was once a beacon of African independence, rich in human capital and natural resources. Today, it is a global cautionary tale of economic collapse. For author Justin Nyoni, who witnessed this devastating decline firsthand, this book began as a crisis of conscienceーa search for the root cause of the systemic, crushing destitution that has consumed his nation.

In Black Poverty: A Story of Leadership and Policy Failures, Nyoni moves beyond the pervasive post-colonial narrative of blame to deliver a rigorous, data-driven analysis of causation. Drawing on his lived experience in Southern Africa and his expertise as a policy analyst, he dissects the precise mechanisms by which ideological politics translate into quantifiable economic hardship, hyperinflation, currency devaluation, and institutional decay.

This is not merely a critique; it is a passionate manifesto for radical honesty. By contrasting Zimbabwe's path with the pragmatic, merit-driven success stories of Lee Kuan Yew's Singapore and Deng Xiaoping's China, Nyoni argues that Africa's vast human capital is waiting to be unleashed, but only through fundamental institutional reforms: meritocracy, fiscal prudence, and the unwavering rule of law.

This book is essential reading for policymakers, students, and global citizens seeking to understand the deep structural weaknesses underpinning African stagnation, and the courageous steps necessary to build a prosperous future where policy finally serves the people.

You've tried to quit a bad habit a hundred times. You white-knuckle through willpower for a few days, feel proud, then slip back into the same pattern. Guilt follows. You blame yourself for lacking discipline. But the real problem isn't youーit's the strategy. Willpower alone never breaks habits. It only delays them. Habits Don't BreakーThey Get Replaced reveals the neuroscience of how habits actually form and why traditional willpower approaches fail. Bad habits aren't character flaws; they're automatic neural pathways your brain runs to get a reward or avoid pain. The only way to permanently eliminate a bad habit is to replace it with a better one that satisfies the same underlying need. This book shows you exactly how to do that. Inside you'll discover how to decode your bad habits, identify the trigger and reward driving them, and engineer a replacement habit that feels just as satisfying but moves you forward instead of backward. You will learn why cold turkey fails, how to use environmental design to make bad habits harder and good habits easier, and how to navigate the critical 66-day window when new pathways are forming. Real-world examples walk you through everything from breaking phone addiction to stopping procrastination to eliminating self-sabotage patterns. Unlike temporary fixes, this system rewires your automatic responses at the neurological level. Once a habit is replaced, it stays replaced. You won't need constant vigilance or motivationーyour brain will simply run the new program. Freedom from bad habits isn't about fighting yourself. It's about outsmarting your own wiring.
