This book addresses the persistence of the optical media piracy trade in the Philippines and Vietnam. It goes beyond arguments of defective law enforcement and copyright legal systems by applying sociological perspectives to examine the socio-economic forces behind the advent of piracy in the region. Using documentary and ethnographic data, in addition to resistance and ecological theories in sociology of law and technology as the overall theoretical framework, the book investigates factors that contribute to this phenomenon and factors that impede the full formalization of the optical media trade in the two countries. These factors include the government’s attitude towards the informal sector and strong resistance to tougher IPR protection, unstable and sometimes conflicting policies on technologies, burdensome business registration process and weak enforcement of business regulations, bureaucratic corruption and loopholes in law enforcement system as well as tradeties with China. In addition to that, the book highlights the social background of the actors behind the illegal business of counterfeit CDs and DVDs, thereby explaining the reasons they continue to persist in this type of trade. It invites policymakers, law enforcers, advocates of anti-piracy groups, and the general public to use a more holistic lens in understanding the persistence of copyright piracy in developing countries, shifting the blame from the moral defect of the traders to the current problematic copyright policy and enforcement structure, and the difficulty of crafting effective anti-piracy measures in a constantly evolving and advancing technological environment.

If you're still miserable after years of self-help books, motel seminars, ritzy retreats, motivational post-it notes, yoga posturing and endless Be Happy Social Media Cliches', there's a really good chance you can blame someone else -- your Critical Inner Voice. This short read may help pinpoint the secret to your happiness after you've exhausted all other avenues and still aren't able to levitate like everyone else.

It's not like you haven't tried. But until you tame that Critical Inner Voice, there's a really good chance you'll never master Self-love -- a pre-requisite foundation for being a happy human. Life Is Good. You just need to fire that cranky movie critic living between your ears. Here's a primer on how to do that and get you moving in the right direction. And seek out other books on this topic. Without your Inner Critic in friendly mode, all those self-help efforts are doomed to failure -- which is exactly what that distorted voice seeks.

Your Critical Inner Voice will happily pretend along for awhile -- enlightened Egos are a dime-a-dozen -- but if left unexamined, it's false perspective can eventually bring even the toughest characters to their knees in despair. Suicide rates are spiking amongst the Baby Boomer generation for a reason. When that false voice becomes self-repudiation on steroids, no external philosophy or flavour-of-the-week seminar will do much good. Above all else, start your quest for happiness here.

"The CIV is the gatekeeper as to what actions you will or will not take. Then presents you the evidence of what it creates to complete the loop. It feels and acts like you, but it's not you at all. In so-called normal people, it acts as a friendly GPS system keeping one on course with a re-assuring commentary. In others, the brain will dredge up allot of oddball distant imprints and crappolla (for lack of a better word) that dis-empowers and masquerades as truth. It feels real because you experience it physically as well. But it's not you at all."

The truth will set your free as they say. And apparently, the truth for some, is that we are not who we really think ourselves to be. Re-shaping that nasty Critic in your brain is like Natures Reset Button for life. Consider it the Ctrl+Alt+Del for those who secretly live lives of quiet desperation.
Hailed as "the best business book of 2010" (Huffington Post), this New York Times bestseller about the 2008 financial crisis brings the devastation of the Great Recession to life.

As soon as the financial crisis erupted, the finger-pointing began. Should the blame fall on Wall Street, Main Street, or Pennsylvania Avenue? On greedy traders, misguided regulators, sleazy subprime companies, cowardly legislators, or clueless home buyers?

According to Bethany McLean and Joe Nocera, two of America's most acclaimed business journalists, many devils helped bring hell to the economy. All the Devils Are Here goes back several decades to weave the hidden history of the financial crisis in a way no previous book has done. It explores the motivations of everyone from famous CEOs, cabinet secretaries, and politicians to anonymous lenders, borrowers, analysts, and Wall Street traders. It delves into the powerful American mythology of homeownership. And it proves that the crisis ultimately wasn't about finance at all; it was about human nature.

Just as McLean's The Smartest Guys in the Room was hailed as the best Enron book on a crowded shelf, so will All the Devils Are Here be remembered for finally making sense of the financial meltdown and its consequences.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Upside of Inequality How Good Intentions Undermine the Middle Class【電子書籍】[ Edward Conard ]

The scourge of America’s economy isn't the success of the 1 percentーquite the opposite. The real problem is the government’s well-meaning but misguided attempt to reduce the payoffs for success.

Four years ago, Edward Conard wrote a controversial bestseller, Unintended Consequences, which set the record straight on the financial crisis of 2008 and explained why U.S. growth was accelerating relative to other high-wage economies. He warned that loose monetary policy would produce neither growth nor inflation, that expansionary fiscal policy would have no lasting benefit on growth in the aftermath of the crisis, and that ill-advised attempts to rein in banking based on misplaced blame would slow an already weak recovery. Unfortunately, he was right.

Now he’s back with another provocative argument: that our current obsession with income inequality is misguided and will only slow growth further.

Using fact-based logic, Conard tracks the implications of an economy now constrained by both its capacity for risk-taking and by a shortage of properly trained talentーrather than by labor or capital, as was the case historically. He uses this fresh perspective to challenge the conclusions of liberal economists like Larry Summers and Joseph Stiglitz and the myths of “crony capitalism” more broadly.

Instead, he argues that the growing wealth of most successful Americans is not to blame for the stagnating incomes of the middle and working classes. If anything, the success of the 1 percent has put upward pressure on employment and wages.

Conard argues that high payoffs for success motivate talent to get the training and take the risks that gradually loosen the constraints to growth. Well-meaning attempts to decrease inequality through redistribution dull these incentives, gradually hurting not just the 1 percent but everyone else as well.

Conard outlines a plan for growing middle- and working-class wages in an economy with a near infinite supply of labor that is shifting from capital-intensive manufacturing to knowledge-intensive, innovation-driven fields. He urges us to stop blaming the success of the 1 percent for slow wage growth and embrace the upside of inequality: faster growth and greater prosperity for everyone.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Never Be Bullied Again Prevent Haters, Trolls and Toxic People from Poisoning Your Life【電子書籍】[ Sam Horn ]

Are you dealing with someone who makes you miserable? Does she cut people down or say something mean and then claim, “Just kidding?” Do you talk on eggshells because you never know what might set him off? Do you work with, for, or around someone who loves to stir up drama? Do you wish this person would just leave you alone?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re in the right place. This "tell-it-the-way-it-is" book teaches you exactly what to say and do when someone is mistreating you - at work, at home, online, at school or next door. It also shows why the well-intended “Be the change you wish to see” approach backfires with bullies.

Why? Bullies don’t care what’s fair. They don’t want to cooperate, they want to control. They don’t want a win-win, they want to win. The nicer you are to them, the meaner they’ll be to you.

The good news is, you can learn how to stand up and speak up for yourself and others, instead of feeling defenseless and powerless. In this book, you will discover what to do when the 5%ers (bullies, haters, trolls and toxics):

? Throw a tantrum and cause a scene to get their way
? Never admit fault and blame everyone else for what goes wrong
? Lie, cheat, make things up, break promises, play martyr
? Insist on being in control and attack anyone who challenges them
? Treat others - customers, employees, students, family members - cruelly
? Seem to get pleasure out of causing other people pain

Develop the courage, confidence and communication skills to hold bullies accountable so they no longer take advantage of your good nature, and no longer have the power to undermine the self-esteem, morale, performance, productivity and success of the people around them.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】It's Enough to Make You Sick The Failure of American Health Care and a Prescription for the Cure【電子書籍】[ Jeffrey M. Lobosky ]

More and more Americans are finding themselves without health insurance or with coverage that is so inadequate they face financial ruin in the event they actually get sick. So they go without. Their children don't receive their immunizations. They allow that worrisome lump in their breast to grow so large that by the time the cancer has been detected it has spread beyond the ability to cure. Seniors can't pay their heating bills or sustain adequate nutrition as the rising cost of their prescription drugs compels them to make difficult choices. Just how did our system become so dysfunctional and who is responsible? This book will tell you.

Too often, discussions on the health care crisis focus a myopic lens on the usual suspects. We are all quick to point a finger at insurance companies who place profit over patients or the pharmaceutical industry that extorts obscene amounts of American dollars for the same drugs that cost 50 to 75 percent less when we cross our borders north or south. We blame trial lawyers who practice with a "lottery" mentality that protects neither the patient from negligent care nor good physicians from frivolous lawsuits.

But the culpability for our crisis is more widespread. Hospitals have devolved from not-for-profit, community-based institutions to large, national for-profit chains. Doctors no longer spend time with their patients but instead rely on expensive, and often times, unnecessary tests and use physician extenders (such as P.A.s and nurse practitioners) to move patients along like cars on an assembly line. Politicians pass well-meaning laws as a knee-jerk reaction to a specific issue without understanding the unexpected consequences, which frequently only exacerbate the problem. And they operate in a system of special interests and influence peddling that all but assures the failure of any meaningful health care reform. And while we all demand high quality health care, few actually take preventative measures that could keep them out of the system they deride. This is a public that eats, drinks, and smokes to excess yet exercises far too seldom.

It's Enough to Make You Sick: The Failure of American Health Care and a Prescription for the Cure discusses how things got so bad, tracking the origins of the U.S. health care system and illuminating how each of the important components have evolved over the last century. Lobosky explains how the varied special interests have conspired to create a system that is by far the costliest in the world and yet is mediocre at best in providing quality care. He explores the various culprits and how each has contributed to the sad state of affairs. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is dissected in detail, and a practical and compassionate blueprint for meaningful reform is offered to remedy the situation. This book is a must read for every American who is frustrated and disheartened by the recent health care battles, for every American who suffers through the "best health care system in the world," and for every American who wants to assure quality care for themselves and those they love.

"Freedom from Guilt and Blame" is designed to free you from guilt's grip. It provides a step-by-step process to overcome guilt and find self-compassion by means of three different methods: cognitive, self-compassion, and spiritual using practical techniques and exercises. You'll also uncover the impact and connection between your values, perfectionism, and codependency and guilt, and learn what to do.

Healthy guilt actually encourages us to get along with others, improve ourselves, and build self-esteem. However, unresolved guilt can cause anger and resentment, not only at ourselves, but also toward others. We might condemn ourselves?not once, but over and over, or guilt may simmer in our unconscious. Either way, this kind of guilt is insidious and self-destructive and can sabotage our goals and relationships. It lowers our self-esteem and makes us easy targets for blame and manipulation.

Self-forgiveness following guilt is self-essential to self-worth. 【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Protest and the Politics of Blame The Russian Response to Unpaid Wages【電子書籍】[ Debra Lynn Javeline ]

The wage arrears crisis has been one of the biggest problems facing contemporary Russia. At its peak, it has involved some $10 billion worth of unpaid wages and has affected approximately 70 percent of the workforce. Yet public protest in the country has been rather limited. The relative passivity of most Russians in the face of such desperate circumstances is a puzzle for students of both collective action and Russian politics. In Protest and the Politics of Blame, Debra Javeline shows that to understand the Russian public's reaction to wage delays, one must examine the ease or difficulty of attributing blame for the crisis.

Previous studies have tried to explain the Russian response to economic hardship by focusing on the economic, organizational, psychological, cultural, and other obstacles that prevent Russians from acting collectively. Challenging the conventional wisdom by testing these alternative explanations with data from an original nationwide survey, Javeline finds that many of the alternative explanations come up short. Instead, she focuses on the need to specify blame among the dizzying number of culprits and potential problem solvers in the crisis, including Russia's central authorities, local authorities, and enterprise managers. Javeline shows that understanding causal relationships drives human behavior and that specificity in blame attribution for a problem influences whether people address that problem through protest.

Debra Javeline is Assistant Professor of Political Science, Rice University.

Years after the Great Recession, the economy is still weak, and an unprecedented number of workers have sunk into long spells of unemployment. Cut Loose provides a vivid and moving account of the experiences of some of these men and women, through the example of a historically important group: autoworkers. Their well-paid jobs on the assembly lines built a strong middle class in the decades after World War II. But today, they find themselves beleaguered in a changed economy of greater inequality and risk, one that favors the well-educatedーor well-connected.

Their declining fortunes in recent decades tell us something about what the white-collar workforce should expect to see in the years ahead, as job-killing technologies and the shipping of work overseas take away even more good jobs. Cut Loose offers a poignant look at how the long-term unemployed struggle in today’s unfair economy to support their families, rebuild their lives, and overcome the shame and self-blame they deal with on a daily basis. It is also a call to actionーa blueprint for a new kind of politics, one that offers a measure of grace in a society of ruthless advancement.

Practical methods for healing after the loss of a member of the military

When a loved one is killed in the line of duty, this book affirms that survivors' grief is shaped by the unique circumstances of the death. Because military deaths are almost always sudden and violent, the traumatic nature of the loss creates a two-part griefーone focused on the manner in which the person died, the other focused on the long-term repercussions of life without this special person. This guide acknowledges the unique mixture of sadness, pride, anger, and blame that often characterizes grief after a military death, including in the event of a military suicide, and offers ideas for constructively expressing thoughts and feelings.
America’s emerging “fat war” threatens to pit a shrinking population of trim Americans against an expanding population of heavy Americans in raging policy debates over “fat taxes” and “fat bans.” These “fat policies” would be designed to constrain what people eat and drink ? and theoretically crimp the growth in Americans’ waistlines and in the country’s healthcare costs.

Richard McKenzie’s HEAVY! The Surprising Reasons America Is the Land of the FreeーAnd the Home of the Fat offers new insight into the economic causes and consequences of America's dramatic weight gain over the past half century. It also uncovers the follies of seeking to remedy the country’s weight problems with government intrusions into people’s excess eating, arguing that controlling people’s eating habits is fundamentally different from controlling people’s smoking habits.

McKenzie controversially links America’s weight gain to a variety of causes:

the growth in world trade freedom,

the downfall of communism,

the spread of free-market economics,

the rise of women's liberation,

the long-term fall in real minimum wage,

and the rise of competitive markets on a global scale.

In no small way ? no, in a very BIG way ? America is the “home of the fat” because it has been for so long the “land of the free.” Americans’ economic, if not political, freedoms, however, will come under siege as well-meaning groups of “anti-fat warriors” seek to impose their dietary, health, and healthcare values on everyone else.

HEAVY! details the unheralded consequences of the country's weight gain, which include greater fuel consumption and emissions of greenhouse gases, reduced fuel efficiency of cars and planes, growth in health insurance costs and fewer insured Americans, reductions in the wages of heavy people, andrequired reinforcement of rescue equipment and hospital operating tables.

McKenzie advocates a strong free-market solution to how America's weight problems should and should not be solved. For Americans to retain their cherished economic freedoms of choice, heavy people must be held fully responsible for their weight-related costs and not be allowed to shift blame for their weight to their genes or environment. Allowing heavy Americans to shift responsibility for their weight gain can only exacerbate the country’s weight problems.

Shocking moments in society create an extraordinary political environment that permits political and opinion changes that are unlikely during times of normal politics. Strong emotions felt by the public during catastrophes - even if experienced only vicariously through media coverage - are a powerful motivator of public opinion and activism. This is particularly true when emotional reactions coincide with attributing blame to governmental agencies or officials. By examining public opinion during one extraordinary event, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Lonna Rae Atkeson and Cherie D. Maestas show how media information interacts with emotion in shaping a wide range of political opinions about government and political leaders. Catastrophic events bring citizens together, provide common experiences and information, and create opinions that transcend traditional political boundaries. These moments encourage citizens to re-examine their understanding of government, its leaders and its role in a society from a less partisan perspective.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】How to Resolve Bullying in the Workplace: Stepping out of the Circle of Blame to Create an Effective Outcome for All【電子書籍】[ Alan Sharland ]

Bullying in the workplace is an increasingly present phenomenon within relationships at work. However, the need to prove that bullying has occurred before action can be taken is an immediate obstacle to moving forward in difficult workplace relationships. The ambiguity and subjectivity associated with the concept of bullying becomes an obstacle to creating more effective responses to their situation for all involved in difficult workplace relationships.

Those who feel bullied, those who are accused of bullying and those who manage such situations can be distracted from attempts to resolve the situation by the subjectivity and confusion associated with the need for 'proof'. As a result a circle of blame will often arise that leaves all involved dissatisfied with the outcome - if a clear outcome is even possible.

This book recounts the experiences of the author, who works as a mediator and conflict coach, in which he has seen work colleagues involved in bullying allegations find ways of resolving their difficulties through a focus on discussing the detail of the behaviours involved in the situation rather than simply focus on proving bullying has or has not occurred.

The 'one size fits all' concept of bullying is usually inadequate as a description of the experiences of those involved in broken working relationships and the accusations and counter-accusations tend to maintain the broken relationship rather than mend it.

The book gives examples of dialogues that can occur, distilled from real-life discussions, that focus on creating more effective working relationships instead of allocation of blame, seeking retribution and retaliation.

The hypocrisy and ultimate ineffectiveness of traditional approaches to allegations of bullying is addressed from the start and the combative and retaliatory language associated with most literature about the topic is highlighted as an indication of how the phenomenon of bullying is self-perpetuating when it is responded to and discussed in this way.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Value Based Management with Corporate Social Responsibility【電子書籍】[ John D. Martin ]

As the first decade of the 21st century winds down we have seen a sea change in society's attitudes toward finance. The 1990s can best be described as the decade of shareholder supremacy, with each firm trying to outdo the other in their allegiance to shareholder value creation, or as it came to be known, Value-Based Management (VBM). No one seemed to question this culture as the rising firm valuations translated into vast wealth creation for so many. Three significant economic events have reshaped how the public feels about an unbridled devotion to VBM and have defined the last decade: the dot.com bubble in 2000, the infamous accounting scandals of 2001, and the collapse of the credit markets in 2007-2008. In all three of these events the CEOs were portrayed as reckless and greedy and Wall Street went from an object of admiration to an object of scorn. The first edition of this book, Value Based Management: The Corporate Response to the Shareholder Revolution was written to help explain the underpinnings of Value-Based Management. At the time of its publication, few questioned whether the concept was the proper thing to do. Instead, the debate was focused on how to implement a VBM program. With this new second edition, the authors look at VBM after having seen it through good times and bad. It is not their intent to play the blame game or point fingers. Nor is it their intent to provide an impassioned defense of VBM. Instead they provide an academic appraisal of VBM, where is has been, where it is now, and where they see it going.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Going Broke Why Americans Can't Hold On To Their Money【電子書籍】[ Stuart Vyse ]

Over the last three decades, debt, bankruptcy, and home foreclosures have risen to epidemic levels. To make matters worse, the personal savings rate is at its lowest point since the Great Depression. Why, in the richest nation on earth, can't Americans hold on to our money? Winner of the prestigious William James Book Award for Believing in Magic and an authority on irrational behavior, Stuart Vyse offers a unique psychological perspective on the financial behavior of the many Americans today who find they cannot make ends meet, illuminating the causes of our wildly self-destructive spending habits. But unlike other authors, he doesn't entirely blame the victim. Bringing together fascinating studies of consumer behavior, he argues that the mountain of debt burying so many of us is the inevitable byproduct of America's turbo-charged economy and, in particular, of social and technological trends that undermine our self-control. Going Broke illuminates everything from the rise of the credit card, to the increase in state lotteries and casino gambling, to the expansion of new shopping opportunities provided by toll-free numbers, home shopping networks, big-box stores, and the Internet, revealing how vast changes in American society over the last 30 years have greatly complicated our relationship with money. Vyse concludes both with personal advice for the individual who wants to achieve greater financial stability and with pointed recommendations for economic and social change that will help promote the financial health of all Americans. Engagingly written, with startling insights into modern consumerism and with poignant human-interest stories of people facing financial failure, Going Broke offers a provocative new perspective on American economic behavior that is likely to stir controversy and serious debate.

Human existence is marked by pain, limitation, disability, disease, suffering, and death. These facts of life and of death give ample grounds for characterizing much of the human condition as unfortunate. A core philosophical question is whether the circumstances are in addition unfair or unjust in the sense of justifying claims on the resources, time, and abilities of others. The temptation to use the languages of rights and of justice is und- standable. Faced with pain, disability, and death, it seems natural to complain that "someone should do something", "this is unfair", or "it just isn't fight that people should suffer this way". Yet it is one thing to complain about the unfairness of another's actions, and another thing to complain about the unfairness of biological or physical processes. If no one is to blame for one's illness, disability, or death, in what sense are one's unfortunate circumstances unfair or unjust? How can claims against others for aid and support arise if no one has caused the unfortunate state of affairs? To justify the languages of fights to health care or justice in health care requires showing why particular unfortunate circumstances are also unfair, in the sense of demanding the labors of others. It requires understanding as well the limits of property claims. After all, claims regarding justice in health care or about fights to health care limit the property fights of those whose resources will be used to provide care.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Nigga Be Proud Of Your Color Book 2【電子書籍】[ Cherokee Gold ]

This book was written to enlighten and motivate not only the black people but to show the world of great accomplishments of a man thats just like you and me with the exception that he went on to be our country's 44th President. This book is also a collective effort of great minds that felt as though the world should know the stories of such great Americans that have created the wonderful world that we live and thrive in. This book is also a continuation of the original Nigga be proud of your color which hi-lights the accomplishments of so many great black African Americans. So ask yourself these questions, Do you know where black people came from? Where did slavery come from? Why did slavery start in the first place? What is the purpose of enslaving another man? Why are we ashamed of our color? What does it mean to be black? Now with so many questions I bet you never thought to find out the truth instead we are conditioned to blame someone for the problem and we have been blaming the wronge one's. Please let me try to explian to you how it all started out. It all started in a beautiful country we should all visit, a land so beautiful and rich where it is believed to be the beginning of human kind, the mother land, Africa not in America where many believe it did. It was African tribes in Africa fighting against other African tribes, why? That was all there was so who else would there be to enslave. The winner would take the men, women and children to a beautiful little island off the coast of Africa. Currently the true name of this island is unknown but for right now we'll call it slave island. The winning tribe would bring the loosing tribe to this island where they would be put on the slave block for sale. Now because of the great physical physiques and organized work skills the Dutch, French and Englishmen purchased the poor captured African people who from that point became known as slaves. From this island they were then taken to the Bahamas, Cuba, and Puerto Rico and then sold to the highest bidder. People would come from all over the world to buy these slaves because they were the best money could buy and it created great advantages to the master's that needed cheap labor. Well this continued on like any other thriving business this trade finally reached the plantations of the south in America where this became big business because of how cheap labor was. So from that point slavery became organized in the American south and spread because of the benefit to business owners and farmers. Not all people in America looked at black people as slaves because they were aware of the whole prossess so you see it wasn't white people who made us slaves but thank them for some of your ancestors being brought here and you were born in one of the greatest countries in the world and here today now you are free. You know from our amazing and mysterious history there are many that believe that the war between the north and south was fought to free slavery, I'm no historian and I don't know why or why not but according to history, slavery in America was suppossed to be abolished by 1806 but for some reason continued until it was completely abolished in 1865 where all the slaves were freed and there owners not compensated and this all took place when one of our greatest Presidents was in office, Abraham Lincoln. Right now even to this day we have not completely excepted the intergration of our whole society. Don't feel bad about the segragation that's going on because you have a choice to be apart of the problem or the solution. We don't live in a world our parents and grandparents once lived in a long time ago so either your apart of the problem or apart of the solution, make a choice and let it be a great one. Always please remember that no matter the color black, blue, red, yellow or green we are all God's children always and he would never leave any of his children behind. So on that note the story that your are about to read is one of greatness that will inspire the mind and ignite the soul.

What would tempt you to whistleblow? Do Codes of Conduct make organisations ethical? How do people react to taking the blame for others? This book answers such questions, drawing on the views of employees in eight large organisations. One finding is the `whited sepulchre phenomenon': an organisation which presents a squeaky-clean image to the world but has intrinsic failings which cause moral dilemmas for staff. While treatment of customers is regulated by Codes and Charters, internal organisation is typically more anarchic. The study also exposes the moral conflicts generated by party-political machinations in organisations with democratic governance.
The book offers a unique perspective on ethical attitudes at work and reactions to responsibility and accountability. It finds that, although religious belief is declining, strong moral beliefs still thrive and `ethical employees' abound. It highlights the importance of empowerment, procedures, and professionalism in creating the `moral organisation'. This original study will interest practitioners in business, the public sector and NGOs, especially human resources professionals, as well as philosophers and business ethicists.

Energy Vampires Survival Kit: How To Build Vitality And Protect Yourself From Energy Vampires. Read on your PC, Mac, smart phone, tablet

Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Learn...

What are the Energy Vampires and How to Spot them?
Recognizing Energy Vampires' Different Personas
The Do's and Don’t's After Spotting an Energy Vampire
Strengthening Your Vitality Against Energy Vampires
Building Defenses: What To Do When Attacked by Energy Vampires
Much, much more!

What Are The Energy Vampires And How to Spot Them?

Energy vampires, as a straightforward definition, are people who, with or without their knowledge, normally cause energy-drain in other people. Energy vampires suck out other people’s personal energy in any form such as mood, perspective, motivation, or even physical and spiritual energy. They cause mental and emotional stress. They cause an overall sense of weakness in different ways, even by their mere presence. They are oftentimes termed as psychic vampires or emotional vampires for they inject negative psychological effects on their victims. They are also known as difficult people because they are the types who are very difficult to handle.

Their “victims” are oftentimes seen as depressed and weakened; they become unmotivated to do anything, and sometimes, in a worst case scenario, victims become energy vampires.

Most of these energy vampires may have been victims themselves. They are people who have been exposed to venomous attacks of one or more energy vampires. Their coping mechanisms failed, and they just found themselves attacking other people. They become unhappy, hurt and insecure individuals, and the only way for them to find satisfaction is to get even.

People who have had encounters with energy vampires had been exposed to threats for they could be vulnerable victims. Yes, energy vampires are a threat! They are like snakes ready to strike against vulnerable and unprotected individuals. And worst is, energy vampires are not easy to spot. They walk, talk, eat, and live like normal people do, and they can be anywhere ? on the road, in social media, at the office, in school, and even at home. The threat they pose is not minor. They can gravely affect a person’s life in ways one can’t imagine. And even before a person discovers, he may have already become a struggling victim.

Spotting an energy vampire can minimize one’s exposure to risks and threats. Knowing these people and what vibes they bring in can save a business, a relationship, a marriage, or one’s sanity.

Here is a checklist to consider: Is he always extremely suspicious with just about anything? Is he always thinking that he may be harmed, deceived or exploited? Does he constantly put the blame to somebody but himself when a problem arises? Is he always unhappy about the success of anyone, always criticizing it? Does he always influence others with his low self-esteem? Does he always make fun of other people, and show that he enjoys it? Does he always complain and whine over minor problems? Does he get angry so easily, even with just minor causes?

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Blame Business The Uses and Misuses of Accountability【電子書籍】[ Stephen Fineman ]

Whenever anything goes wrong our first instinct is often to find someone to blame. Blame infuses our society in myriad ways, seeding rancor and revenge, dividing lovers, coworkers, communities, and nations. Yet blame, appropriately placed and managed, safeguards moral order and legal culpability. In this book, Stephen Fineman explores this duality inherent in blame, taking us on a fascinating journey across blame’s sometimes bitterーsometimes justーlandscape.

Fineman focuses on blame’s roots and enduring manifestations, from the witch hunts of the past to today’s more buttoned-up scapegoating and stigmatization; from an individual’s righteous anger to entire cultures shaped by its power. Addressing our era of increasing unease about governance in public and private enterprises, he delves behind the scenes of organizations infected with blame, profiling the people who keep its plates spinning. With a critical eye, he examines the vexing issue of public accountability and the political circus that so often characterizes our politicians and corporations lost in their “blame games.”

Ultimately, Fineman raises the challenging question of how we might mitigate blame’s corrosive effects, asking crucial and timely questions about the limits of remorse and forgiveness, the role of state apologies for historical wrongdoings, whether restorative justice can work, and many other topics. An absorbing look at something we all know intimately, this book deepens our understanding of blame and how it shapes our lives.
