Dem Frate lag Sandros Ausbildung besonders am Herzen, da er ihm auch pers?nlich sehr zugetan war. So sind seine Kompositionen eher Muster; seine Gestalten besetzen nicht wohl definierte Pl?tze im Raum, sie wirken nicht durch massige K?rperhaftigkeit, sondern eher fl?chig. Die Linien, die seine Konturen umgeben, verfolgen wohl einen dekorativen Zweck. Man sagt Botticelli nach, dass er “...obwohl einer der schlechtesten Anatomen, so doch einer der gr??ten Zeichner der Renaissance” gewesen sei. Ein Beispiel fehlerhafter anatomischer Wiedergabe ist die unm?gliche Art und Weise, in der der Kopf der Madonna am Hals befestigt ist und verschiedene merkw?rdige Gelenke sowie eigent?mlich geformte Glieder. Trotzdem gilt er als einer der gr??ten Zeichner, weil er es nicht nur verstand, blo?e ?u?ere, sondern auch innere Sch?nheit wiederzugeben. Mathematisch ausgedr?ckt, l?ste er die Bewegung der Figur in ihre Faktoren ? die einfachsten Ausdrucksformen ? auf und kombinierte diese verschiedenen Formen in ein Muster, das durch rhythmische und harmonische Linien auf unsere Einbildung die poetischen Gef?hle des K?nstlers projiziert.
