Come Here To This Gate【電子書籍】[ Rory Waterman ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Come Here To This Gate【電子書籍】[ Rory Waterman ]

Come Here to This Gate, Rory Waterman's fourth collection, is his most candid and unexpected, personal, brash, hilarious, and wide-ranging. The book is in three parts, the first a sequence about the last year of the life of his father, the poet Andrew Waterman, against a backdrop of recrimination, love and alcoholic dementia: 'your silences were trains departing'. The second consists of poems that open various gates, or are forcibly restrained behind them, from the literal North and South Korean border to the borders between friends, and those imposed by photographs, memories, and paths taken and not taken. The third opens on the poet's rural home county of Lincolnshire. He rewrites several folk tales into galloping, sometimes rambunctious ballads for the 2020s: what happens when imps, ghosts, and a boggart who looks like a 'doll left behind at Chernobyl' must reckon with the modern world and the people who lumber through it.

There is a string beneath this universe.
And it remembers what it was supposed to become.

The Wanderer returns in this sweeping harmonic trilogyーa deeply poetic, emotionally immersive journey through sound, memory, and the ancient music of creation.

When the crew of the Wanderer crosses into a realm beyond known space, they awaken something older than timeーa forgotten chord left unresolved by the universe itself. What begins as a simple resonance becomes a voyage through lost civilizations, sentient frequencies, and the very foundation of consciousness.

In a symphony of movements rather than chapters, The Resonant Fold weaves three books into one transcendent narrative arc:

Once the Gate Opens ー A doorway in space that listens back.

The Harmonic Gate ー A song struggling to become.

Echoes of the Plasma Mirror ー Where the universe sings itself.

At the heart of this odyssey lies a singular truth: the music was never separate from us.

We were always part of the song.

And now, we must play.

When I stumbled into that hidden chamber, I was expecting dust, old rocks, and maybe a historical trinket or twoーnot a glowing artifact that branded my wrist like I'd signed up for some cosmic game without reading the fine print. Now, I've got this strange mark, a cryptic connection to an ancient power, and a growing list of enemies who seem to think I'm the key to their next big conquest. Lucky me, right? To top it off, my so-called partner, Gabriel, has his own skeletons rattling in the closet, and let's just say they might come back to bite us. Hard. Enter Amara, a woman who knows more than she's letting on and who might just helpーif I can figure out what she's playing at before it's too late. The mark has chosen me for reasons I don't understand, and controlling its power might be the only way to survive. But with each step deeper into this mystery, I'm starting to wonder if I'll make it out aliveーor if I'll become part of a story that began long before I existed. All I wanted was a little adventure. What I got was a curse, a mystery, and a whole lot of trouble. Care to join me?

Gate of the Heart Understanding the Writings of the Bab【電子書籍】[ Nader Saiedi ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Gate of the Heart Understanding the Writings of the Bab【電子書籍】[ Nader Saiedi ]

In 1844 a charismatic young Persian merchant from Shiraz, known as the B?b, electrified the Sh?'ih world by claiming to be the return of the Hidden Twelfth Imam of Islamic prophecy. But contrary to traditional expectations of apocalyptic holy war, the B?b maintained that the spiritual path was not one of force and coercion but love and compassion. The movement he founded was the precursor of the Bah?'? Faith, but until now the B?b's own voluminous writings have been seldom studied and often misunderstood. Gate of the Heart offers the first in-depth introduction to the writings of the B?b.

Taking an interdisciplinary approach, the author examines the B?b's major works in multifaceted context, explaining the unique theological system, mystical world view, and interpretive principles they embody as well as the rhetorical and symbolic uses of language through which the B?b radically transforms traditional concepts. Arguing that the B?b? movement went far beyond an attempt at an Islamic Reformation, the author explores controversial issues and offers conclusions that will compel a re-evaluation of some prevalent assumptions about the B?b's station, claims, and laws.

Nader Saiedi's meticulous and insightful analysis identifies the key themes, terms, and concepts that characterize each stage of the B?b's writings, unlocking the code of the B?b's mystical lexicon. Gate of the Heart is a subtle and profound textual study and an essential resource for anyone wishing to understand the theological foundations of the Bah?'? religion and the B?b's significance in religious history.

Gander at the Gate【電子書籍】[ Rory O'Connor ]

'The poet W.B. Yeats desired to produce written work that, while it had been arduously crafted, would appear as immediate and spontaneous as the ordinary spoken words of people. It is a testament to the achievement of Rory O'Connor that he has accomplished just that by writing a memoir that connects closely to the oral tradition. ... It could be hoped, perhaps, that every community - urban and rural - would have a Rory O'Connor among them who would possess the ability of capturing that society in all its vitality, colour and mystery. If that were possible they would - like this present book - make for fascinating reading.' -Derek Hand, Sunday Business Post. 'I loved the book ... I carried Rory O'Connor's vivid images and phrases around with me in my imagination long after I had finished reading. He seems to have had the type of magical, untrammelled childhood, populated with extraordinary characters, to which we have all aspired.' - Deirdre Purcell. 'Gander at the Gate is the best book of its kind since Twenty Years A-Growing. It is vibrant, humorous, delightful, nostalgic and deeply moving to the point of tears ... The characters are wonderful, especially Uncle Jack, who deserves a book to himself sometime. This is a book full of the magical lunacies of a family and it is also a history of a troubled time in which the author's father was a major figure ... I shall read it again and again.' - John B. Keane. 'Rory O'Connor is a gifted writer, so gifted, in fact, that he can turn the reader into a listener. O'Connor's style of writing is also a style of oral telling. And he is a master storyteller, evoking what he calls "the wonders of life" with consummate skill. He deals with a past that ranges from the gentle to the murderous, the violent and grim to the humorous and fantastical. Gander at the Gate is completely authentic, a gripping feat of memory, a candid, detailed evocation of a lost world.' -Brendan Kennelly. Knocknagoshel, north Kerry, in the 1930s. Autumn mornings with mist rolling over a 'kindly and fertile land'; the pungent smoke of turf fires; open-air wrestling contest; convoys of tinkers with their piebald ponies; farm boys and servant girls aching with desire; and a cast of remarkable men and even more remarkable women, fiery and forthright, their lives 'teeming with the emotions of love and jealousy, and human conflict, common among all the simple people of the world'. Through the lyrical prose of Rory O'Connor, Gander at the Gate tells of an Irish farmhouse, the family who lived there, and the community of which they were part. We discover the imaginings and adventures of the local 'goboys'; the widow Delia and her sons lost to America; and the eccentric Uncle Jack, full of 'riddles, and recitations, and the latest rhymes and small poems'. As the gander of the title - the fiercest beast of the farmyard - begins to intrude on his consciousness, O'Connor describes his father's experience of Ireland's civil war. This is the most magical evocation of people and place to be published in recent Irish literature. Rory O'Connor gives a potent life to the ghosts of time in a book that has all the hallmarks of a classic.

The Girl of the Golden Gate【電子書籍】[ William Brown Meloney ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Girl of the Golden Gate【電子書籍】[ William Brown Meloney ]

The general steamship agency on The Bund was a hive of bustling travelers, their faces alight with the eagerness with which they desired to be gone their many ways up and down the world. A stranger might have imagined that most of Yokohama's European or "white" population had been possessed of a sudden desire to flee beyond the seas.
It was a scene common enough, however, for that season in the gateways of the Far East. Spring, with its heart call to distant homelands, had come again to break the spell of the Orient for many and to stir an unutterable longing in the breasts of othersーthe men and women who dream always of the day they will "go back," but who never do.
The crowd was a conglomerate, as crowds go, and not lacking in picturesque touchesーhere where a Chinese of mandarin rank went with a silky retinue; there where a pair of turbaned Sikhs stood near two begoggled Korean priests, muttering in gutturals over their tickets for the South. The placidity and impenetrable calm of these few Oriental faces served but to accentuate the mobile expressiveness of the dominant Caucasian countenance.
Still there was one white man whose features betrayed no expression of interest in the scene. He stood head and shoulders over those around him in a line of applicants at a booking desk toward the rear. There was an air of detachment about him. Apparently he was untouched of the spirit of mystic restlessness and excitement which pervaded the placeーthat resistless, undeniable spirit which takes hold of even the most unimaginative and lackadaisical in railway depots or wherever else men in numbers set out upon journeys. There was no gleam of the homeward-bounder in his eyeーthat gleam which is more like the light of love than anything else; there was no expectancy; no sign of eagerness.

It was a severe room, scrupulously neat. Along one side ran a bookcase, with beaded glass doors, containing, as one might see by peering through the spaces, the collected, unread literature of two stern generations. A few old prints, placed in bad lights, hung on the walls. In the centre of the room was a leather-covered library table, with writing materials arranged in painful precision. A couch was lined along one wall, in the draught of the door. On either side of the fireplace were ranged two stiff leather armchairs. In one of these chairs sat an old man, in the other a faded woman just verging upon middle age. The old man was looking at a picture which he supported on his knees-a narrow, oblong strip of canvas nailed on to a rough wooden frame. The woman eyed him with some interest, as if awaiting a decision.

The Crystal Gate A Trans-Psychoanalytic Ontology of Mind【電子書籍】[ Sajeepan Arikaran ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Crystal Gate A Trans-Psychoanalytic Ontology of Mind【電子書籍】[ Sajeepan Arikaran ]

If a tree falls in a forest with no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? The tree undoubtedly generates vibrations or mechanical waves propagating through the air; but until they reach a mind, they are not perceived as sound. Similarly, in the Observer Effect, do quantum waves respond to observation and measurement by collapsing into definite, quantized states as particles? How can something so immaterial and phenomenal such as thoughts, emotions/feelings, ideas, ideals, experiences and mental states arise from a material and physical system such as the brain? What, then, is the relationship between mind and matter, between the physical world and the mental world? There is an answer, and the answer is a strange loop.

An explanation to the 'Hard Problem of Consciousness', directed by a method of 'Causal-Reductive Monism'.

In order to solve the 'Mind-Body Problem', you have to break down the nature of causality, which requires a reduction in self and time. How meaning functions is how systems organize themselves towards awareness.

Nature is simple by nature. However, when it loses itself to complexity; that is the threshold where it becomes conscious and from conscious, self-aware. A local field potential that is manifested, like the explosion that gave rise to the universe. Every possibility of an electron, delineated. Every birth of awareness, is a fundamental and personal act of creation. And time is of the essence, the essence of all matter; for all that matters is time. Remember me not as an image lost in time, but as the essence of all things lost in its translation.

"The Crystal Gate" is a depiction of a star-tetrahedral time crystal and the symbol of 'Causal-Reductive Monism'. Causal-Reductive Monism is a method of dissolving the ontological gap between mind and matter by reducing the constructs of self and time. 'The Crystal Gate: A Trans-Psychoanalytic Ontology of Mind', delineates the self to the dynamic interaction between an illusory loop of subject-object identity, and tears apart linear time into a deterministic interconnected singularity, where emergence is a property of conscious perception. It further uses the subject-object polarity, to devise a complex web of interactions with representations to solve the 'Mind-Body Problem' and 'Hard Problem of Consciousness'. A new model of gravity is thus proposed. The conclusion aligns perfectly with Vedanta Monistic Idealism, and integrates Analytic Psychology with Orchestrated Objective Reduction.

A Ward of the Golden Gate【電子書籍】[ Bret Harte ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】A Ward of the Golden Gate【電子書籍】[ Bret Harte ]

The story revolves around a young boy named Tommy, who is an orphan and lives in a mining camp near San Francisco. Tommy is taken care of by a rough but kind-hearted man named Kentuck. Kentuck is a miner who has a reputation for being fearless and good-natured, and he has become a sort of father figure to Tommy. One day, Tommy and Kentuck encounter a man named Sal, who is injured and near death. Sal had been in a fight and was left for dead by his companions. Kentuck decides to take Sal in and nurse him back to health. During Sal's recovery, he becomes attached to Tommy and begins to feel a sense of responsibility for him.As the story unfolds, the characters' relationships and emotions are tested, and the themes of friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice are explored. "A Ward of the Golden Gate" is a classic example of Bret Harte's storytelling style, which often focuses on the lives and experiences of people in the rugged and often lawless frontier of the American West. The story is relatively short and can be found in collections of Bret Harte's works or in anthologies of American literature. It remains a notable piece of Western American literature that captures the spirit of the Gold Rush era and the human connections that were forged in those challenging times.
