It is needless to say that she was never at home on Walpurgis-night (30 April or May Day's eve, also known as Hexennacht or Witches‘ Night), the great meeting time of all the witches and evil spirits; but, indeed, she was more often abroad.＜br /＞ It was claimed by many that she worked her spells on many people in the village, but no-one was brave enough to challenge her face-to-face.＜br /＞ Gundelheind had a young daughter Truda, and how she came by such a daughter none can tell; for Truda was as sweet as a May morning, and her hazel eyes had the look that the angels wear, in the church pictures. Instead of the old woman’s horny, blackened hide, Truda had a skin as fair and soft as cream.＜br /＞ Everyone wondered if Truda would one day become a witch like her mother, or if she would forsake her mother’s ways once and for all? Gundelheind had to let Truda go into the village to buy supplies and she always paid in pure gold coin, which raised more many an eyebrow.＜br /＞ Over Time Truda began taking longer and longer to make the trip which began to raise Gundelheind’s suspicions. But what was Truda up to? Kelpberries from the Sea Monsters, Blue Lizard from the witch Damnimgood, the spit from the Grannybug and finally the eye of Newt (but then everyone knows that Newts are extinct). Along the way they meet the friendly Lukan the Leprechaun and Wizziboo a rather forgetful wizard, both of whom come to their aid. The four soon become fast friends and experience many wonderful adventures whilst trying to fulfill the tasks. On the other hand there is a young and handsome prince named Sebastian who is on a quest to become a man in order to take the throne from his father. He meets some incredible characters like Elkhorn King of the Pixies and the beautiful Mystique Queen of the Fairies and assists them in taking down their arch rivals Marko the Malicious and Villainous Vile his henchman. Sebastian has to face many challenges but also learns some vital lessons about patience and tolerance. The two groups meet up at the National Music Festival at Splishyden Cove and Sebastian and Misery become friends. Prince Poke meets a young lady named Bubbles, who is really Sebastians long lost sister, although her true identity is only revealed at the end. These six people continue on the quest for the remaining items required and meet up with Wizard Smartass and his strange family. Finally they all return to the castle to hand over the required items to Wizard Lostmywand only to find that he has taken over the entire kingdom and is intent on ruling forever. A magic battle ensues involving Wizziboo, Witch Damnimgood and Wizard Lostmywand. Finally the kingdom is returned to its rightful owners and there is a reunion with Sebastian, his parents and Bubbles his long lost sister. A double wedding takes place and everyone is delighted with the outcome. The fallowing evening Queen Vulcania and two of her most skilled archers arrive on the outskirts of their small settlement called Gore. It is a small settlement just off the Egene Sea, and is governed by Mark Van Drake. He is about five foot nine with golden-brown hair and bright baby blue eyes, his family is very rich but he is poor due to the fact that his father, King Vladimir Van Drake, tried to kill Mark at the age of sixteen. So he and a small group of pilgrims as well as friends sailed south of Great Britain and found land, all because of his father and the terror that he caused. Mark Van Drake was very young when he showed numerous talent of being a skilled leader and he also excelled in politics as well as money, born on March tenth, 1991; he progressed under his mother's watchful eye. On the eve of July fifth, 2007 Queen Vulacania entered Gore and asked to speak with the leader of the settlement. Mark stepped forward and said "I am the leader of the people of Gore, what matter of business do you have with me," "I, Queen Vulacania, ruler of these lands have come to negotiate with you on terms of peace so that your people and my people may help one another if need be." Mark and Queen Vulacania went to town hall and they discussed the terms to which they both approved of. The humans and elves lived peacefully for many a month, each harvest they would come together and celebrate, on the last day of the harvest they would celebrate with a feast; they called this day 'All Thanks Day.' On the first day of spring, a young lady of the age of sixteen was out with her friends in the forest around Gore playing a game. After the game she the young lady took a brisk walk to find some berries when she came to a clearing with a large, shiny rock in the middle. So she walked over to it thinking that it was just a large rock so she picked it up and when the sun hit the rock it revealed colors of red, black and blue. The colors reminded her of something she once had but she couldn't remember what, so she took it home unaware of the danger that lurked above. For the rock was not a rock at all but an egg that belonged to the fieriest beast that side of the mountains, A DRAGON!!! To a dragon the most important thing is the well being of the young, for you see dragons watch their young in turns. ( the American Bald eagle does the same, they care for their young in turns.) At that moment the sire of the egg was watching every move that she made, from where he sat the young lady looked like an elf (we are almost identical) so he went to the elves to ask why they would do something like that. Bridgett Ravenclaw ( the young lady) went back to her cottage at the edge of the forest. Bridgett is a sixteen year old, five foot ten inch, brunette with blue-green eyes who will go on a journey of self-discovery and wonder. During the night the area around the stone(egg) she found earlier that day began to stir and shake with a vigorous force. So she lite a candle then walked over to where the stone was, she found it shattered into very fine shards of blue and black. Even if I had not been lucky enough to play over 100 games in the best competition in the world(arguably in any sport) Rugby League was in my blood. As a Rothmans Medal winner (the official player of the year award in 1983 succeeded by The Dally M Medal) I have always been aware of the history of our great game and its effect on society especially in the northern states of Australia. Apart from obtaining a Law degree at Sydney University I studied the Politics in Sport while completing my Arts Degree at Macquarie University.＜/p＞ ＜p＞I believed our game was ahead of sports like baseball, gridiron and basketball that relied heavily on statistics to rate their great players. Ours is a game of passion made for the blue collar working classman relying on guts and determination not on how many yards and minutes someone makes or plays. However as we get older we all like to dig deep into history and see who had the ability and drive to play even one game in the toughest competition playing the greatest game of all. This book does what none other has attempted to dotell a story using numbers and statistics about our great game.
