＜p＞Emerging technologies in wastewater treatment plant is an ecological, profitable and natural technology designed to eliminate heavy metals, radionuclides, xenobiotic compounds, organic waste, pesticides, etc. from contaminated sites or industrial downloads through biological means. Since this technology is used in conditions on site, it does not physically disturb the site unlike conventional methods, that is, chemical or mechanical methods. In this technology, higher plants or microbes are used alone or in combination for the phytoextraction of heavy metals from sites contaminated with metals. Through microbial interventions, metals are immobilized or mobilized through redox conversions in contaminated sites. If they are mobilized, accumulating metal plants are placed to accumulate metals in their bodies. Next, metal-loaded plants are collected and recycled to reduce the volume of waste and then, disposed of as hazardous materials or used for the recovery of precious metals, if possible. In case of immobilization, metals are no longer available to be toxic to organisms. There are very few books published on the proposed theme. ＜p＞This book describes Restless Genital Syndrome, Diagnosis and Treatment and Related Diseases＜/p＞ ＜p＞I came across this condition when I was doing research on my book on Restless Leg Syndrome (Willis-Ekbom Disease) and found it extremely interesting.＜/p＞ ＜p＞I have never heard of such a condition existing in women.＜/p＞ ＜p＞I have written about Priapism before in men＜/p＞ ＜p＞Such a painful condition happening in women is really unexpected.＜/p＞ ＜p＞I can imagine their discomfort and pain when the disease strikes.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Restless genital syndrome is a well-recognized disorder in which a person feels continuous genital arousal without any sexual stimulus or fascination.＜/p＞ ＜p＞It was at first called the Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS), then Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) and then Restless Genital Syndrome because there is no sexual arousal or desire involved.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Particularly, it is not linked to hyper-sexuality, sometimes known as nymphomania or satyriasis.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Hyper-sexuality, nymphomania, and satyriasis are also not identified as diagnosable medical disorders by the DSM-IV.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Besides being very rare, RGS is also often not reported by patients who may consider it shameful or embarrassing.＜/p＞ ＜p＞This is a somatosensory disorder featured by an unpleasant sensation affecting the genital area and pelvis.＜/p＞ ＜p＞It has been portrayed as a spontaneous, intrusive, and unwanted genital arousal (e.g., tingling, throbbing, pulsating) that happens in the absence of sexual desire or interest.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Restless genital syndrome has been confirmed in only a few men and less than 1% of women.＜/p＞ ＜p＞There might be other sufferers too which have not reported their problem.＜/p＞ ＜p＞This is mainly because in this situation most men think that their libido is higher than the normal population and therefore they get these unwanted hardened penises.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Doctors have come up with the most possible logic that there is some abnormality in the nerves that carries the sensations towards the penis in men and the clitoris in women.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The nerve signals in penis and clitoris reach to the brain and give the message that there is something sexually appealing while in reality there is nothing like that.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Physical arousal produced by this syndrome can be very intense and last for extended periods, days or weeks at a time.＜/p＞ ＜p＞An orgasm can occasionally provide temporary relief, but within hours the symptoms recur.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The recurrence of symptoms, with the exception of known triggers, is sudden and not predictable.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Failure or refusal to relieve the symptoms often causes waves of spontaneous orgasms in women and ejaculation in men.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The symptoms can be disabling, preventing concentration on ordinary tasks.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Some situations, such as riding in an automobile or train, vibrations from mobile phones, and even going to the toilet can aggravate the syndrome unbearably causing the discomfort to border on pain.＜/p＞ ＜p＞It is not infrequent for patients to lose some or all sense of pleasure over the course of time as release becomes linked with relief from pain rather than the sensation of pleasure.＜br /＞ Some patients have said that they avoid sexual intercourse, which they may find to be a painful experience.＜br /＞ The disorder may persist for many years and can be so serious that it has been known to lead to depression and even suicide.＜/p＞ ＜p＞To diagnose RGS, 5 different features should be present:＜/p＞ ＜ol＞ ＜li＞The genital arousal should last for an extended time (hours to months)＜/li＞ ＜li＞No other cause for genital arousal should be present＜/li＞ ＜li＞The genital arousal should be unrelated to feelings of sexual desire＜/li＞ ＜li＞The arousal sensation should feel intrusive and unwanted, and be linked with some distress＜/li＞ ＜li＞The arousal sensation should persist, at least to some degree after orgasm＜/li＞ ＜/ol＞ ＜p＞TABLE OF CONTENT＜br /＞ Introduction＜br /＞ Chapter 1 Restless Genital Syndrome＜br /＞ Chapter 2 Causes＜br /＞ Chapter 3 Symptoms＜br /＞ Chapter 4 Diagnosis＜br /＞ Chapter 5 Treatment＜br /＞ Chapter 6 Prognosis＜br /＞ Chapter 7 Restless Leg Syndrome＜br /＞ Chapter 8 Priapism＜br /＞ Epilogue＜/p＞画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

＜p＞This book describes Dizziness, Diagnosis and Treatment and Related Diseases＜/p＞ ＜p＞This week I had a patient who has the sensation of dizziness which occurred after an operation on his sinuses to remove bloody pus.＜br /＞ He felt the dizziness worse when moving from the lying to the upright position.＜br /＞ Whether it was the after effect of the anesthesia or the operation itself, he was certainly paler than usual and feeling tired.＜br /＞ He was told to return to his ear-nose and throat surgeon for a review including X-ray of his sinuses and a full blood count.＜br /＞ His blood tests showed evidence of mild anemia (low hemoglobin) and low red blood cells count possibly from the loss of blood from the sinusitis and during the operation.＜br /＞ He was told to take Iron with folic acid and multivitamins to build up his blood, stemetil (prochlorperazine) for his dizziness and told to have adequate rest and eat more red meat.＜br /＞ In the meantime his MRI showed evidence of mucosal thickening of the sinus walls and evidence of mild infection.＜br /＞ An antibiotic gel was inserted into his sinuses to try to clear the sinus infection.＜br /＞ In spite of all these measures he still felt dizzy but not as bad as previously.＜br /＞ Since there was no evidence of malignancy, I tried to reassure him and not to worry too much as stress and worry by itself can cause the dizziness.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Dizziness has been used to depict different sensations.＜br /＞ True dizziness is a feeling of light-headedness, unsteadiness or simply feeling faint.＜br /＞ It involves the sensory organs, specifically the eyes and ears, so it can occasionally cause fainting.＜br /＞ Most causes of dizziness are not severe, and they either rapidly get better on their own or are easy to treat.＜br /＞ Dizziness is not a medical disorder, but rather a symptom of different disorders.＜br /＞ The symptom of "dizziness" needs to be separated from vertigo, which is a spinning sensation feeling that the room is moving, or that the person is moving when they are not (or even a floating sensation).＜br /＞ Vertigo is a feeling that the patient is spinning or moving, or that the world is spinning around the patient.＜br /＞ Balance difficulty is also a separate disorder where a person feels they are about to fall, has difficulty keeping balanced, or may actually fall.＜br /＞ It may also feel like motion sickness or as if the patient is leaning to one side.＜br /＞ Vertigo and disequilibrium may cause a feeling of dizziness, but those 2 terms depict different symptoms.＜br /＞ Disequilibrium is a loss of balance or equilibrium.＜br /＞ True dizziness is the sensation of lightheadedness or near fainting.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Occasional dizziness is not something to worry about.＜br /＞ The patient should call the doctor immediately if the patient is feeling repeated episodes of dizziness for no apparent reason or for a prolonged period.＜br /＞ Lightheadedness happens when the brain does not get enough blood.＜br /＞ This may happen if:＜br /＞ 1.The patient has a sudden drop in blood pressure.＜br /＞ 2.The body does not have enough water (is dehydrated) due to vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and other disorders.＜br /＞ 3.The patient gets up too quickly after sitting or lying down (this is more frequent in older people).＜br /＞ 4.Lightheadedness may also happen if the patient has the flu, low blood sugar, a cold, or allergies.＜br /＞ More serious disorders that can lead to light-headedness are:＜br /＞ 1.Heart disorders, such as a heart attack or abnormal heart beat＜br /＞ 2.Stroke＜br /＞ 3.Bleeding inside the body＜br /＞ 4.Shock (extreme drop in blood pressure)＜br /＞ If any of these serious disorders are present, the patient will normally also have symptoms like chest pain, a feeling of a racing heart, loss of speech, change in vision, or other symptoms.＜br /＞ Vertigo may be due to:＜br /＞ 1.Benign positional vertigo, a spinning feeling＜br /＞ 2.Labyrinthitis＜br /＞ 3.Meniere Disease＜/p＞ ＜p＞TABLE OF CONTENT＜br /＞ Introduction＜br /＞ Chapter 1 Dizziness＜br /＞ Chapter 2 Causes＜br /＞ Chapter 3 Symptoms＜br /＞ Chapter 4 Diagnosis＜br /＞ Chapter 5 Treatment＜br /＞ Chapter 6 Prognosis＜br /＞ Chapter 7 Meniere’s Disease＜br /＞ Chapter 8 Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo＜br /＞ Epilogue＜/p＞画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

＜p＞Angiogenesis (formation of new vessels from pre-existing ones) is a crucial early event in the process of tumor development. New vessels supply the tumor with nutrients that are needed for further local growth and enable distant metastases (Folkman 1995). Judah Folkman (1971) highlighted the potential therapeutic imp- cations of tumor angiogenesis. He hypothesized that if tumor angiogenesis is inhibited, then tumor growth and metastasis will be impaired greatly or even impossible. The subsequent quest for endogenous and exogenous inhibitors of angiogenesis has yielded a variety of promising therapeutic agents that block one or more angiogenic pathways, a few of which have been approved by the FDA (e. g. , bevacizumab, sorafenib, sunitinib) for use as single agents or in combination with chemotherapy in specific populations of cancer patients (Sessa et al. 2008). There has also been a dramatic expansion in the exploration of novel anti-angiogenic agents pre-clinically and in clinical trials (Ferrara 2002). Some of the most promising data comes from the development of agents that inhibit one of the key growth factors involved in tumor angiogenesis ? vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) (Ferrara et al. 2003). Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody against VEGF that was the first an- angiogenic agent that improved significantly the overall survival of patients with colorectal and non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (Ferrara et al. 2005).
