Kocsis)コメント:My Rachmaninoff - Alexander Krichel releases new album for the 150th birthday of the composer on Berlin Classics - Under the title My Rachmaninoff, Alexander Krichel will release his new album on Berlin Classics on March 24, 2023, and with it a very personal tribute to the Russian pianist and composer, whose birthday will be celebrated for the 150th time just a few days later. For his eighth album, Alexander Krichel has selected works that have shaped his strong connection to Rachmaninoff. From the world-famous Prelude Op. 3 No. 2 in C-sharp minor to the virtuosic Corelli Variations and Etudes-Tableaux, some of the most difficult repertoire written for piano, to the concluding Vocalise, Krichel invites listeners to discover Rachmaninoff's biography musically. He wants to inspire his audience with the music of this great composer in the same way that it once captivated him. 2023 is the year of Rachmaninoff anniversaries: April 1 would have marked the 150th birthday of the Russian composer, pianist and conductor, and March 28 marks the 80th anniversary of his death. High time for Alexander Krichel, after the great success of his first Rachmaninoff album in 2015 on Sony Classical, to dedicate himself once again to the composer who has always accompanied and shaped his playing and his career. With two of the greatest contemporary Russian pianists as teachers - Alexander Krichel was Vladimir Krainev's last student in Hanover and studied at the Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev - the exceptional Hamburg-born artist developed a strong connection to the Russian piano school. This is noticeable in his playing - he combines risk-taking keyboard thunder with a highly sensitive feeling for sound. Alexander Krichel had his first encounter with Rachmaninoff when he was nine years old at a youth piano competition, where an older competitor entered the Prelude in C-sharp minor. "I was just talking to my piano teacher, and although I only heard the music in the background, the first three dramatic notes grabbed me right away and wouldn't let go, " the pianist said. In order to expose his audience directly to the captivating effect of Rachmaninoff, Alexander Krichel opens his album with precisely this piece, which is also biographically one of Rachmaninoff's first works. Together with the Prelude Op. 23 No. 5 in G minor and the Prelude Op. 32 No. 12 in G-sharp minor, the works quite literally form a prelude to the journey through Rachmaninoff's musical biography. With the Etudes-Tableaux op. 39, Alexander Krichel places one of Rachmaninoff's pianistic highlights at the center of his album, which, with great successes in South America and Asia, became a door opener for him personally to the stages of the world. The composer described the nine highly virtuosic etudes as musical "paintings" that always place the strong emotional message above the challenging technical background. The final work, composed by Rachmaninoff for solo piano 15 years after his emigration to the United States, is the Corelli Variations, miniatures that range from jazzy to classically virtuosic and are so individual that each could stand alone as a composition. A project to create music based on the mythical Parthenope (precursor of modern Naples) began with a conversation between Gilardino and two Neapolitan masters of the guitar: Aniello Desiderio, virtuoso guitarist acclaimed throughout the world; and Lucio Matarazzo, who embodies the forthright Neapolitan style so typical of the school of Eduardo Caliendo (the guitarist who collaborated in the performances and recordings of Roberto Murolo). Having joined forces in a new duo, the two guitarists asked Gilardino to compose a concerto for guitar and orchestra, and he replied with the Concerto del Sepeithos for two guitars and orchestra in 2013. The river Sepeithos (Sebeto) flowed through ancient Neapolis, and Gilardino was drawn to accounts of the raging current making it's way through the city and into the sea at today's Piazza del Municipio. The duo's response to the Concerto del Sepeithos was another request: for Gilardino to write a Sonata for two guitars for them, as well. In 2014 they were rewarded with Riviera di Chiaia - Passeggio reale, a piece evoking an imagined Naples informed by impressions ranging from Cimarosa to Anna Maria Ortese, Leonardo Leo to Nicola Pugliese. Bach never left a record of whether he and the greatest organist of his day even met; perhaps the young man preferred to listen to Buxtehude in secret, silently, while the old man practised in the Marienkirche. Buxtehude's music presents a unique blend of the North German organ school with influences from abroad such as the English virginalists and the Italian masters of more free-form genres such as the canzona and toccata. Such a unique, cosmopolitan voice evidently made a profound effect on the young Bach, whose horizons had hitherto been comparatively limited to the musicians and traditions of Saxony where he had grown up. Manuel Tomadin's unique new recital imagines and stages this musical encounter and it's ramifications. In addition, he received composition lessons from Haydn's favorite student Sigismund Neukomm and from Johann Georg Vogler. In 1803 his mother wrote to the Offenbach publisher Andre: "He composes small sonatas and variations for my festive days." Following his public debut on April 8, 1805, Mozart's youngest son perfected his piano playing with Johann Nepomuk Hummel and learned about composition with Johann Georg Albrechtsberger and Antonio Salieri. He left Vienna, the city of his birth, in 1808 and went to Galicia, which at that time belonged to the Habsburg Empire (today the region is divided between the territories of Poland and Ukraine). After two jobs as a piano teacher for Polish aristocrats in the Galician province, he moved to the state capital Lviv (now Lviv) in 1813. Here he stayed - apart from a concert tour of several years and a few short trips in 1818 - until 1838, devoted himself to extensive teaching and conducted a choir between 1826 and 1829. Mozart spent his last years in Vienna, where he increasingly appeared as a pianist. Mozart's work primarily includes piano solo music and piano-accompanied vocal music. The works gathered on this album and on the two previous albums in this series provide an overview of the former. It is interesting to see how in one of the main works in this recording, the Sonata op.10, which was composed in 1807, he did not deal with the sonata form that his father had further developed, but with the thematic and harmonious construction principles of the Mannheim School.

Beyond that, it's fair to say that his film and TV scores are too numerous to mention, although in 2017 he was honored with an "Annie Award" for his score for the animated picture "The Little Prince" which he co-wrote with his long standing friend and collaborator, Hans Zimmer, following on from the success of his much praised contribution to The Da Vinci Code movie featuring Tom Hanks.

After graduating he studied organ and church music at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Munich, completing his studies with honors.
