"When I finished reading this book, all I could say was WOW! What a stunning piece of literary work... It is concise, brilliantly written, backed by scientific findings, with clear human logic and intelligence. If this doesn't awaken the masses to delve into who and what they truly are, I can't imagine what will."
~ Jerry Issa, teacher of metaphysics, Trenton, Michigan

This book will change your life if you let it.
If we are accidental beings on a remote planet in a vast universe, existing for merely a blip in cosmic time, what's the point of living at all? Until we learn life is too significant to be a short-lived brilliance that rises out of nothing and ends in nothing, we will continue to live out our lives in, what Thoreau saw as, quiet desperation.
We sense the materialistic wall when we ask the question, "Is that all there is?" Without resorting to miracles or magic, this book provides compelling evidence of life beyond the physical world by logically investigating the limitations of matter in the universe, by examining the gaps in scientific theories and by analyzing what the mystics already know about a spiritual existence.
It takes a dedicated seeker with no preconceived ideas and no intent on arriving to see beyond the materialistic wall. This book is intended to expand your awareness of life here and hereafter, hopefully providing the spark that will start you on your own personal pilgrimage. The mystics tell us we will be guided to the next step along our spiritual path when we are ready. Are you ready?

AWARENESS: The following might be the thoughts of those at different levels of awareness as they walk through a rose garden.
I want - I wonder how much I could get for these roses.
I believe - God created roses when He created the world and everything in it.
I doubt - Roses evolved from wild flowering shrubs, but most garden varieties are hybrids.
I seek - How could anything as beautiful as a rose happen purely by chance?
I know - Roses, like all life on Earth, are physical manifestations of spirit.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

Tokyo - the metropolis of 100 Villages - is a place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, where dreams come to life amidst a symphony of sights, sounds, and sensations. It is a city that pulses with energy, where tradition dances with innovation, and where every street corner holds a story waiting to be told. Welcome to Tokyo, a metropolis unlike any other, where life unfolds with breathtaking intensity.
As I step onto the bustling streets of this vibrant city, a wave of excitement washes over me. Tokyo, a name that resonates with anticipation and wonder, is a tapestry of colors, contrasts, and contradictions. It is a place where ancient temples stand shoulder to shoulder with futuristic skyscrapers, and where the scent of incense mingles with the aroma of sizzling street food.
The heart of Tokyo beats strongest in its people, an intricate web of diverse individuals who shape the city's character. From the salarymen meticulously navigating their daily routines to the geishas who embody elegance and grace, each person adds a brushstroke to the captivating portrait of this bustling metropolis.
In the vibrant district of Shibuya, the youthful energy of Tokyo thrives. Here, amidst a sea of neon lights and towering billboards, a new generation carves out its identity. Harajuku, with its avant-garde fashion and eccentric street styles, is a testament to the boundless creativity that flourishes within these streets. And as night falls, the world-famous Shibuya Crossing transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle, as thousands of pedestrians converge in a symphony of movement, a visual symphony that captures the essence of Tokyo's kinetic spirit.
Yet Tokyo's charm extends beyond its modern facades. In the serene gardens of the Imperial Palace, time seems to stand still. As I stroll through the meticulously manicured landscapes, surrounded by ancient stone walls and tranquil moats, I am transported to a different era, where the whispers of history echo in every breeze. Here, amidst the cherry blossom trees in bloom, I am reminded of the fleeting beauty that graces this city each spring, painting the landscape in delicate shades of pink.
But Tokyo is not just a city of dreams and beauty; it is a place of resilience and strength. The Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the devastation of World War II, and the more recent challenges faced after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami-all have tested the spirit of Tokyo and its people. Yet, time and again, this metropolis has risen from the ashes, rebuilding and reinventing itself with a determination that is awe-inspiring.
To truly understand Tokyo, one must venture beyond its well-trodden paths. The historic district of Asakusa, with its centuries-old Senso-ji Temple, offers a glimpse into the city's past, a reminder of the traditions that have withstood the test of time. A boat ride along the Sumida River reveals a different perspective, as the city's modern skyline gives way to a tapestry of old wooden houses and hidden gems.
And then there is the food, a culinary odyssey that tantalizes the taste buds and ignites the senses. From savoring the delicate artistry of sushi at Tsukiji Fish Market to indulging in a bowl of piping hot ramen in a narrow Shinjuku alley, Tokyo's food scene is a journey in itself. It is here, amidst the bustling izakayas and hidden gems tucked away in the backstreets, that one truly experiences the heart and soul of this city.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Son of His Father (Complete)【電子書籍】[ Margaret Oliphant Wilson Oliphant ]

‘Don’t say anything before the boy.’ This was one of the first things he remembered. In the confused recollections of that early age, he seemed to have been always hearing it: said between his mother and his sister, afterwards between his grandparents, even by strangers one to another, always, ‘Don’t say anything before the boy.’ What it was, about which nothing was to be said, he had very little idea, and, indeed, grew up to be a man before, in the light of sudden revelations, he began to put these scattered gleams together, and see what they meant. They confused his little soul from the beginning, throwing strange lights and stranger shadows across his path, keeping around him a sort of unreality, a sense that things were not as they seemed. His name was John in those days: certainly Johnーof that there was no doubt: called Johnnie, when people were kind, sometimes Jackーbut John he always was. He had a faint sort of notion that it had not always been John Sandford. But this was not clear in his mind. It was all confused with the rest of the broken reminiscences which concerned the time in which everybody was so anxious that nothing should be said before the boy. In those days his recollection was of a little common-place houseーa house in a streetーwith two parlours, one behind the other, kitchens below, bed-rooms above, the most ordinary little house. There was a little garden behind, in which he played; and in which sometimes he was vaguely conscious of being shut out on purpose to play, and doing so in an abortive, unwilling way which took all the pleasure out of it. Sometimes he only sat down and wondered, not even pretending to amuse himself, until a butterfly flew past and roused him, or his little spade showed itself temptingly at hand. At seven one is easily beguiled, whatever weight there may be on one’s spirit. But now and then he would stop and look up at the windows, and see some one moving indoors, and wonder again what it was that the boy was not intended to know. At this period of John’s career, his father was aliveーand he was fond of his father. Sometimes papa would be very late, and would go up to John’s little bed, and bring him down in his night-gown only half awake, seeing the candles like stars through a mist of sleep and wonder, till he was roused to the fullest wakefulness by cakes and sweetmeats, and every kind of dainty which papa had brought. John became quite used to all the varying experiences of this mid-night incidentーthe reluctance to be roused up, the glory of going downstairs, the delight of the feast. He sat on his father’s knee, with his little bare feet wrapped in a shawl, and his eyes shining as brightly as the candles, munching and chattering. He got quite used to it. He used to feel uncomfortable sometimes in the morning, and heard it said that something was very bad for him, and that the child’s stomach, as well as his morals, would be spoiled. Johnnie knew as little about his stomach as about his morals. And he had a way of being well which greatly interfered with all these prognostications. He was a very sturdy little boy. He had a consciousness through all these scenes of his mother’s face, very pale, without any smile in it, showing serious, like the moon, among those lights. She gave him no cake or oranges, but it was she who wrapped up his feet in the shawl, and took care of him in the morning when his little head sometimes ached. Papa was never visible in the morning. Johnnie was sometimes a little afraid of him, though he was so jolly in these mid-night visits. The boy was frightened when he was being carried downstairs, and clung very close, though he did not say anything about his fears. Papa would lurch sometimes on those occasions, like the steamboat on which John once had gone to sea.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

Whether you have one child or twelve (do you really have twelve?), they seem to come prepackaged with their own personality. You wonder how much nurture is going into this nature and how you’ll ever survive let alone thrive.

In the throes of raising nine children ages three through twenty one, Robbins, the Pater Familius of Familius.com has penned his thoughts on how to be happy while raising children in such a way that we embrace the imperfect system we call parenthood. We laugh, we cry, we debate and finally agree that parenthood is a unique and individual journey that reveals far more about ourselves than any other pursuit.

In the spirit of Paul Arden’s books on marketing, Robbins explores strategies, best practices, ideas, and the never-ending challenges of what it means to be a parent. In the end, he contends, family success and happiness is not only possible while raising children but is really all around us if we but stop, look, and listen.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

In "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils," Selma Lagerl?f crafts a captivating narrative that combines the charm of a children's adventure with the profound reflections of a moral fable. Set against the backdrop of Sweden's picturesque landscapes, this book follows the journey of a young boy, Nils, who is transformed into a tiny creature and compelled to travel across the country on the back of a goose. Lagerl?f's prose is rich and lyrical, echoing the folkloric traditions of Swedish storytelling, while weaving themes of transformation, respect for nature, and the importance of humility into this enchanting saga. The book is not only a delightful tale for children but also serves as a powerful commentary on the relationship between humanity and the natural world, exemplifying the complexities of individual growth against societal expectations. Selma Lagerl?f, the first female writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, is renowned for her ability to blend realism with fantasy. Her upbringing in the rural Swedish countryside and her deep admiration for folklore and mythology significantly influenced her literary creation. Lagerl?f experienced the disconnect between industrialization and tradition firsthand, immersive such themes in her works, often advocating for the preservation of cultural narratives and the importance of moral responsibility. 【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Reflections of an On-The-Road Sinner/Christian【電子書籍】[ John Guertin ]

This book is an attempt to convey a few simple messages/suggestions/inspirations (call them what you may) on the meaning of what being a sinner/Christian is-for anyone willing to pick it up and read even a part of it. For this reason it is broken up into four parts-an essay on personal spiritual Christian warfare; reflections on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, essential building blocks of grace and belief; poems reflecting Christian perceptions of life in various areas; and, finally, fictional short stories about possible Christmas miracles in individual lives. Each section can stand by itself, but when they are all put together, they mean much more. That is, they express the full degree of spiritual wonder which can be found in a penitent sinner/Christians heart. So, my hope is that anyone willing to take a few moments to reflect on his/her relationship with God (the one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) will pick up this book and allow the words within to touch his or her heart in this journey we are all on to eternal life with God.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Influence of the Phallic Idea in The Religions Of Antiquity【電子書籍】[ C. Staniland Wake ]

IT will not be necessary for me to give details of the rites by which the phallic superstition is distinguished, as they may be found in the works of Dulaure,1 Payne Knight,2 and other writers. I shall refer to them, therefore, only so far as may be required for the due understanding of the subject to be considered--the influence of the Phallic idea in the religions of antiquity. The first step in the inquiry is to ascertain the origin of the superstition in question. Faber ingeniously referred to a primitive universal belief in a great father, the curious connection seen to exist between nearly all non-Christian mythologies, and he saw in phallic worship a degradation of this belief. Such an explanation as this is, however, not satisfactory; since, not only does it require the assumption of a primitive divine revelation, but proof is still wanting that all peoples have, or ever had, any such notion of a great parent of mankind as that supposed to have been revealed. And yet there is a valuable germ of truth in this hypothesis. The phallic superstition is founded essentially in the family idea. Captain Richard Burton recognized this truth when he asserted that "amongst all barbarians whose primal want is progeny, we observe a greater or less development of the phallic worship."3 This view, however, is imperfect. There must have been something more than a mere desire for progeny to lead primitive man to view the generative process with the peculiar feelings embodied in this superstition. We are, in fact, here taken to the root of all religions--awe at the mysterious and unknown. That which the uncultured mind cannot understand is viewed with dread or veneration, as it may be, and the object presenting the mysterious phenomenon may itself be worshipped as a fetish, or the residence of a presiding spirit. But there is nothing more mysterious than the phenomena of generation, and nothing more important than the final result of the generative act. Reflection on this result would naturally cause that which led to it to be invested with a certain degree of superstitious significance. The feeling generated would have a double object, as it had a double origin--wonder at the phenomenon itself and a perception of the value of its consequences. The former, which is the most simple, would lead to a veneration for the organs whose operation conduced to the phenomena--hence the superstitious practices connected with the phallus and the yoni among primitive peoples. In this, moreover, we have the explanation of numerous curious facts observed among eastern peoples. Such is the respect shown by women for the generative organ of dervishes and fakirs.4 Such also is the Semitic custom referred to in the Hebrew Scriptures as "the putting of the hand under the thigh," which is explained by the Talmudists to be the touching of that part of the body which is sealed and made holy by circumcision: a custom which was, up to a recent date, still in use among the Arabs as the most solemn guarantee of truthfulness.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Weavers: A Tale of England and Egypt of Fifty Years Ago【電子書籍】[ Gilbert Parker ]

When I turn over the hundreds of pages of this book, I have a feeling that I am looking upon something for which I have no particular responsibility, though it has a strange contour of familiarity. It is as though one looks upon a scene in which one had lived and moved, with the friendly yet half-distant feeling that it once was one’s own possession but is so no longer. I should think the feeling to be much like that of the old man whose sons, gone to distant places, have created their own plantations of life and have themselves become the masters of possessions. Also I suppose that when I read the story through again from the first page to the last, I shall recreate the feeling in which I lived when I wrote it, and it will become a part of my own identity again. That distance between himself and his work, however, which immediately begins to grow as soon as a book leaves the author’s hands for those of the public, is a thing which, I suppose, must come to one who produces a work of the imagination. It is no doubt due to the fact that every piece of art which has individuality and real likeness to the scenes and character it is intended to depict is done in a kind of trance. The author, in effect, self-hypnotises himself, has created an atmosphere which is separate and apart from that of his daily surroundings, and by virtue of his imagination becomes absorbed in that atmosphere. When the book is finished and it goes forth, when the imagination is relaxed and the concentration of mind is withdrawn, the atmosphere disappears, and then. One experiences what I feel when I take up ‘The Weavers’ and, in a sense, wonder how it was done, such as it is. The frontispiece of the English edition represents a scene in the House of Commons, and this brings to my mind a warning which was given me similar to that on my entering new fields outside the one in which I first made a reputation in fiction. When, in a certain year, I determined that I would enter the House of Commons I had many friends who, in effect, wailed and gnashed their teeth. They said that it would be the death of my imaginative faculties; that I should never write anything any more; that all the qualities which make literature living and compelling would disappear. I thought this was all wrong then, and I know it is all wrong now. Political life does certainly interfere with the amount of work which an author may produce. He certainly cannot write a book every year and do political work as well, but if he does not attempt to do the two things on the same days, as it were, but in blocks of time devoted to each separately and respectively, he will only find, as I have found, that public life the conflict of it, the accompanying attrition of mind, the searching for the things which will solve the problems of national life, the multitudinous variations of character with which one comes in contact, the big issues suddenly sprung upon the congregation of responsible politicians, all are stimulating to the imagination, invigorating to the mind, and marvellously freshening to every literary instinct. No danger to the writer lies in doing political work, if it does not sap his strength and destroy his health. Apart from that, he should not suffer. The very spirit of statesmanship is imagination, vision; and the same quality which enables an author to realise humanity for a book is necessary for him to realise humanity in the crowded chamber of a Parliament.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。
