【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】IELTS Like Never Before One Stop Destination to all Four IELTS Academic Papers【電子書籍】[ Labindra Singh Dhami ]

It has now been over a year learning, improving, growing, and teaching new tricks, techniques, and cheat codes to people whoever come to me with a hope of receiving something from my experience and insight as a successful test-taker myself in the recent past. “IELTS Like Never Before” is a book dedicated to all my well-wishers, friends, potential students, colleagues, and even seniors who every now and then reach me out with a hope of receiving something unique from my first-hand experience, which isn’t readily available out there anywhere in the market. A year ago, when for the first time in my life I entered the arena of test-preparation as a student, I moved from door to door of every single test preparation center in Nepal and took their trial classes for a few days and guess what I didn’t find even a single educational consultancy to be delivering the standard of preparation that the IELTS Academic Module demands. I would also love to give credit to our “Grade Oriented Educational System” where every single high school is in a race of manufacturing unbelievable board results for rising up the ranks. In this process, they ask their wise and experienced teachers to entirely limit the students to the course curriculum that no doubt gives every possible chance to the student to get a great score in the much anxiously awaited board exams which hands down helps the student in the days to come, but obviously is a pleasing thing for the high school more than that for the student because it is what they have achieved after making the classrooms syllabus centered.

Even though we take pride in being the student of a reputed private educational institution, we never get access to the wealth of experience that the faculties in that school possess because of the syllabus focused approach of most high schools that consequently makes the entire high school journey a cake walk for every student, but the real struggle starts after graduation. Even the best amongst the best high school students struggle after completing their school level education because the educational institutions here in Nepal, believe it or not, are still competing with each other in terms of most number of admits to prestigious medical and engineering institutes like Institute of Medicine (IOM) and Institute of Engineering (IOE). Nepalese high schools give an early exposure to the competitive exams conducted by these two premier institutions to their science stream students and start nurturing them according to their branch from early high school years. Talking about Management, Humanities, or Law stream students, they are in a way left out from the group because for high schools, it is the number of IOM and IOE admits that matter at the end of the day allowing them earn headlines and become famous overnight, which is directly associated with more student traffic in the following years, so Science stream students are kept cut above the rest. As mentioned earlier, everything looks fine when you’re in high school; you feel like you’re inside your home and it’s raining heavily outside without realizing that one day you must walk out of your home (your comfort zone) in those circumstances to test your mettle and achieve what you long to. But the reality is students enter unprepared in the test preparation arena after high school.

Most of the students don’t have exposure to the test preparation arena, and it isn’t our fault at all because we as students had done everything right till the point getting into the best high school possible, but the limited approach of our respective high school leaves us stranded in the dark world of test preparation industry, where you’ll find cheats more than genuine ones looking to take hold of your money. Every high school graduate, including those highly valued science stream students, who enters the test preparation arena and for the first time comes across the standardized tests, which they must conquer before giving wings to their study abroad dreams, struggles while giving his/her best shot at the practice test or opt for the classes because the skills tested by standardized tests available out there in the market are something he/she wasn’t made aware of at his/her high school. Relating it to the example earlier, it is simply like throwing you out of your home with an umbrella that you don’t know how to open, and you’re asked to reach Point B. If you’re strong enough you might reach to your ultimate destination applying yourself to the best extent possible even without having an early exposure to this tumultuous situation, but majority don’t make it to the finish line, who eventually compromise on their dreams.

I can truly feel your pain and there’s no need to worry at all. In Nepal, many students find themselves in this situation, where rather than clarity it is always the uncertainties that surround them because the dark world of test preparation is certainly new for them, and they aren’t mature enough to handle the bitter experiences that they’ll face in the midway. Students aren’t given exposure to standardized testing in their high school; the teachers in most of the test preparation centers aren’t solidifying the bases of the students at all because they themselves don’t take the coaching profession seriously, and eventually, it is the student who is under immense pressure because everybody’s expectation rests on those delicate shoulders. Exposure to this level of pressure might bring the best out of a person, but in most cases, it comes at an expense of sleeplessness, anguish, anxiety, lack of clarity, and feeling lost, which certainly adds up to the stress levels resulting in trauma overtime. I don’t know what people achieve from this dirty business, but I certainly can say it does no good to the nation and the world in the long run. Because of the development of inferiority complex in children at an early age, they feel under-confident throughout their life, which eventually leads to inauspicious consequences.

I’m not somebody who points on the problems only and having said that I have a solution to this problem too. Many of you might agree IELTS is a basic English Language Test designed to measure the strength of your English communication and understanding skills because it is a pre-requisite when it comes to abroad study. But the problem is many students freak out when they are asked to take the IELTS test any time soon although everybody has been exposed to English language for over ten years at least. What is it that has made the IELTS test a nightmare? It is all because of the conservative approach demonstrated by our high school, where we were never entertained if we did anything else than course book studies that took even the slightest of chances to ace the exam away from us. This gap is inevitable, and when you enter the test preparation industry, not even a single test preparation agency will teach you the techniques to deal with every single question type that you’ll see on the test, which eventually makes things even worse for us. Whichever test preparation agency you visit, you’ll find every teacher just bringing bundles of practice sheets and asking you to practice without teaching you the right way to approach the questions you see on the paper. Preparing for the IELTS with a hope that if you give as many practice tests as possible, you’ll improve overtime and ace the test will make the process unnecessarily lengthy and unfulfilling at the same time.

Therefore, to fill this gap, I come with a book “IELTS Like Never Before”, which for the first time in the IELTS test preparation industry covers every minute concept that you must know to master the IELTS exam. This book will equip you with everything that you’ll need to know for easily getting the better of every single question you see on the test day. It is happening for the first time in the history of test preparation that all four IELTS sections are covered and detailly explained in a single book for a Guaranteed Individual Section and Overall Score Improvement in the IELTS exam.

Yes, practice does improve your score, but practicing in a way that the test preparation centers make you do is something like pushing the wall of your room. The wall won’t move even an inch; however, you’ll certainly hurt yourself doing so. Similarly, just taking dozens of practice tests and not learning from them won’t give you out of the box results. Thus, my only focus as always is on doing technique-based quality practice. By that I mean, first clear your basics, cover every single must know concept, lay a solid foundation then pounce on the practice tests and attempt as much as you can. Approaching every single standardized test this way will make the process less tedious and a lot more enjoyable.

Hence, as an author, I want all my readers to smile all the time, and this book is certainly my best attempt toward putting a smile on the face of those who have forgotten to smile because of the IELTS nightmares that they’re having. Especially, for those of you who are having a good time with IELTS preparation, I would also want you to read this book and magnify the smiles on your faces to a larger extent because at the end of the day it is all about staying positive within and imparting positivity to the world as only a few people do so nowadays.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Ten Questions ESL Podcast: Transcripts and Worksheets for Episodes 1-7【電子書籍】[ Nancy Buswell ]

This ebook is a supplement to the first seven interviews on my "Ten Questions ESL Podcast".

The chapters in the ebook have four sections. First is the transcript of the interview. I listened to the interview and wrote down what we said. This took a long time! You can read the transcript alone or while you are listening to the podcast. The second section is cultural notes. I explain a few things that we say that you might not be familiar with. The third section is vocabulary. I chose some words that some of you may not know and gave the definitions. The fourth section is discussion questions. You can use these with yourself, or with classmates or friends who are also studying English.

The people interviewed are: Nancy from the U.S. (me!); Zhao from China; Gerry from Canada; Shiyi from China; Cathy from the U.S.; Zhen from China; and Erica from England/Canada. This ebook does not include the audio. There are links and directions to finding the podcasts in the introduction to the book.

This ebook is intended for English language students who are studying alone, but it can also be used in a classroom. I use these materials myself in my classes in China, especially the discussion questions. I make a handout using the cultural notes, vocabulary, and discussion questions. I talk about the cultural notes and vocabulary, then play the audio podcast. Afterwards the students talk with their partners about the discussion questions. This way the students practice both listening and speaking during the class meeting, and they learn something about another culture.

This book is the one all-inclusive guide you can't do without, the most thorough and comprehensive, from basic to advanced, easy-to-follow, no fluff strategy to researching your ancestry. This guide not only helps you find genealogical information, but digs deeper into how to actually interpret that information, verify its accuracy, and how to use what you find to make further discoveries. Whether you've decided to embark on this adventure for a school project, to connect to a famous ancestor, because you were motivated by a television show, because you are looking for a hobby...you will realize that whatever the reason, you develop into a collector of knowledge, you become a historian. It didn't take long after starting my personal ancestry research projects for me to become wonderfully invested in and consumed by discovering my past, my origins, and my family connections. Having spent greater than seven years fumbling through various guides, conducting web searches, bouncing between various online subscription sites, travelling to conduct research, and hunting through archives and databases to find and figure out the best way to go about research for my own ancestry projects...along the way, I prepared myself a guide. And in telling fascinating stories of my discoveries, my family and friends became interested in conducting ancestry research of their own. I didn't want them to experience the same stumbling blocks as I did, and wanted to simplify the process as much as possible. I wanted to give them a simple, but thorough, step-by-step guide to the basics as well as the more technical aspects of ancestry research that are used by professional researchers. I hope it helps you as much as it has me, my family, and my friends. Enjoy your passage through time. I hope that your journey is enlightening. And that throughout your journey, you learn more about yourself than you ever thought possible.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

![A PhD Rollercoaster A Diary of The Ups And Downs of Being a Doctoral Student【電子書籍】[ Nilam McGrath ]](https://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_mall/rakutenkobo-ebooks/cabinet/0412/2000005230412.jpg?_ex=128x128)
【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】A PhD Rollercoaster A Diary of The Ups And Downs of Being a Doctoral Student【電子書籍】[ Nilam McGrath ]

What's it really like to do a PhD? There are lots of books of the 'how to' variety for organising yourself, dealing with supervisors, and writing papers and theses. But what about the emotional journey? What about the changes to your health, your social life, and your relationships with those closest to you? What about all the mistakes you make while trying to figure things out? And what if you're not sure about life as an academic, what then?

Researcher and writer Nilam McGrath passed her PhD with no corrections, and then spent a decade helping PhD students navigate their PhD journey through her popular Ups and Downs of PhDs workshop. In this book, she weaves together her personal PhD experiences with those of her workshop participants, with one clear message for all doctoral students: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

If you've ever felt lonely, isolated, stressed or just down-right confused at any point during your PhD, then this no-nonsense book, with its TOP TIPS and LEARNING POINTS from each year, will reassure you that it happens to the best of us, and that there is light and (a good) life at the end of the dark, anxiety-ridden tunnel.

Read about the tears, tantrums and TV habits that led to Nilam taking a leap of faith at the end of her PhD rollercoaster.

Reviews: visit Nilam's website to read more reviews of A PhD Rollercoaster.

'I think this book is going to be a source of comfort to a lot of people at a very stressful time in their lives.' Dr Matt Greenwood-Nimmo, University of Melbourne.

'This diary captures beautifully the psychological highs and lows, rewards and frustrations of doing a PhD. It challenges some academic conventions and the restrictions they can place on the student. This is balanced with practical suggestions such as 'read outside of your discipline' and explore whether you want to be a researcher or an academic as this will influence the decisions you make. There is an overall tone of optimism that even when the 'going may be tough' completing a PhD is a positive personal and professional experience that will help you influence and create your professional future.' Dr Elaine McNichol, University of Leeds.

'This well-written, candid and engaging account of one person's PhD journey should prove a valuable resource for current PhD students, individuals considering doctoral study, and those responsible for the supervision, professional development and pastoral care of PGRs. I found myself identifying with several of the experiences and emotions, some of which are not always easy to 'own-up-to' as a research student. I wish this book had been available when I was doing my PhD.' Dr Caroline Hodges, University of Bournemouth.

'Every PhD student should read this one. It's the untold story of the personal and emotional rollercoaster that will be yours, but fear not, Nilam will help you through it. All PhD life is here.' Prof Anne Gregory, University of Huddersfield.

'A PhD Rollercoaster should be mandatory reading for PhD students across disciplines! By cracking the lid on the often opaque and intertwined social, emotional, physical, and professional challenges of completing a PhD, this book provides a platform to think about doing academia differently, in more healthful ways. Nilam so artfully (and delightfully humorously) uses her own personal diary kept throughout the course of her PhD to draw out insights and perspective that will no doubt be useful to anyone embarking on the PhD journey, as well as those guiding students through it.' Dr Stephanie Coen, Queen's University, Canada.

‘An invaluable insight into the doctoral journey that is at times poignant, hilarious, real and informative. The diary extracts add colour to a process that is often viewed as an exercise in cerebral gymnastics, whilst the narrative speaks to the uniqueness of each person’s journey on the route to PhDdom. A must read for anyone thinking of signing up for doctoral study.’ Annisa Suliman, Leeds Beckett University.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。

![College Success 101: A Professor’s Insider Secrets to Help You Succeed in School【電子書籍】[ David Wyld ]](https://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_mall/rakutenkobo-ebooks/cabinet/7499/2000000807499.jpg?_ex=128x128)
【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】College Success 101: A Professor’s Insider Secrets to Help You Succeed in School【電子書籍】[ David Wyld ]

This book may be the most important investment you make this week, this month, this year - or perhaps in your whole life. Whether you are a student buying this book as you embark on your college career or you are a parent who found the title and thought it would be a good read for your son or daughter as he or she left for their freshman year, this book is a great investment (and certainly, a cheap one!). This investment of literally just a few dollars could yield a difference of hundreds of thousands of dollars during the working career of a college student's future career as it could help one succeed in college and not just graduate, but do well, learn more and earn a higher grade point average.

The information in this book is literally the best kind of investment information out there, because it comes from an insider. This kind of information would literally be illegal in the world of stock investing, coming from an organizational insider with the institution you are about to invest tens - and over time - literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in - all in an attempt to secure a better future, either for yourself as a student or as the parent of a student. And college today is literally the second most costly investment, other than a home, that you will make in your lifetime (and for some of you lucky parents, like myself, that means making similar investments with multiple institutions of higher learning for your 2, 3, 4 or more children). So, from day one on campus, your college career is indeed an investment, and I'm one insider who wants to see you succeed.

Let me introduce myself as your "inside source" on what it takes to succeed in college today. My name is David Wyld, and I am a Professor of Management at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana (just outside New Orleans). I've been teaching management - mostly business strategy and international business courses - at the college level since 1987 and at Southeastern since 1992. And so, with 25 years of experience, I dare say that I have seen it all. I've seen technology change the way we teach - both in the classroom and now in the online world. I've seen great changes in the nature and composition of the students in college classrooms - and in the professors who teach there. I've seen great changes in the learning resources available to college students. Finally, I've seen enough circumstances involving "questionable" student and instructor conduct - both in and outside of the classroom - to have an ability to predict how my colleagues and administrators will react in a given situation.

What is the book about? Simply put, it is intended to be a guidebook for students on how to succeed in their college careers. Think of it as a short course in "College Success 101," where the only real test is the ultimate one - will you live up to your personal potential and be as successful as possible in your college career. In short, will you graduate? Will you graduate on-time? Will you earn the best grades possible each class, each semester, and ultimately, over your college career to earn honors at graduation?

This book is indeed a labor of love, as I want all students who read it to succeed. This is the information that I would want my own son to know as he heads-off to college. This book provides simple, straight-forward advice from an experienced college insider to answer questions such as: How should you pick your major? How should you choose classes to make your schedule? How should you approach your classes? How should you study for tests? What should your strategy be for doing your best on tests, research projects, and on the dreaded group project? How should you interact with other students in your classes and with your professors? And finally, what should you do when things go bad for you in a class or in an entire semester.

So, I hope that you take a chance and make the investment to read Coll...
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。
