Die vorliegende Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Untersuchung der translatorischen Strategien und Entscheidungen einer bestimmten ?bersetzerin beim ?bersetzen des kanadischen Romans The Rebel Angels ins Deutsche. In einem literarischen Text sind die Textelemente (wie z.B. Titel, ?berschriften der Kapitel, Textk?rper und darin enthaltene Inhalte) nicht streng konventionalisiert - und gerade deshalb ist es interessant herauszufinden, ob Literatur?bersetzer bei ihrer Arbeit bestimmten Strategien folgen. Hierzu besch?ftigt sich zun?chst das erste Kapitel mit dem theoretischen Hintergrund zum Thema ?bersetzungsstrategie und versucht, es in Verbindung zur Textsortentheorie zu setzen. Anschlie?end liegt der Fokus st?rker auf der Textsorte Roman und es wird eine erweiterte autorengerechte ?bersetzungsstrategie f?r literarische Prosatexte vorgeschlagen. Diese Strategie umfasst die Ber?cksichtigung sowohl der textexternen, als auch der textinternen Faktoren und wird als Raster f?r die Untersuchung des deutschen Zieltextes im zweiten Kapitel verwendet. Da es beim Literatur?bersetzen nicht nur auf den Autor sondern auch ausschlaggebend auf den Leser ankommt, wurde ein Teil des ersten Kapitels (1.3.) der Empf?ngerpragmatik, bzw. dem Verh?ltnis der ?bersetzung zum potentiellen Leser gewidmet. Das zweite Kapitel der Arbeit macht es sich zur Aufgabe, im Anschluss an die ausgearbeitete Theoriegrundlage, die Beispielstellen aus dem kanadischen Roman The Rebel Angels zu analysieren und zu beschreiben. Dabei werden die wichtigsten Schritte erl?utert, die auch die ?bersetzerin bei ihrer T?tigkeit gehen musste. So k?nnen ihre translatorischen Entscheidungen nachvollzogen, beschreiben und kommentiert werden. Zun?chst wird die textexterne Dimension beleuchtet, darunter werden die Angaben zum Autor und der situativen Einbettung des Ausgangstextes zusammengestellt (2.1.1.), darauf folgen die Angaben zu der ?bersetzerin und die ?berlegungen zum ?bersetzungsauftrag (2.1.2.). Die weitere textinterne Untersuchung (2.2.1.) wird stichprobenartig auf folgenden Textebenen durchgef?hrt: Formebene, lexikalisch-semantische Ebene und Syntax samt Interpunktion.
